-ALIYNA
The sounds of the brewing coffee machine, trembling away as it makes my coffee is the only sound that is running through my mind. All noise is gone, its gone peaceful in my head. The dimly illuminated kitchen is polished to the max, earlier this morning, Ace had all the cleaners come in to polish the entire house up and down.
He said that some very important guests would be arriving, and before I could ask him anything else, he left for work. I hadn't seen him since.
That was in the morning, at 8am, its currently 11pm, I take a look at the clock, and my mind wonders to him. Why am I always finding myself in this situation? wondering about him, and where he is?
The buzz of my coffee machine snaps me out of the thought, I take the brewed coffee in my mug, and add milk, along with some sugar. The liquid spins as I stir it, then tossing the spoon in the sink.
The hot coffee moves around in my mug as I make my way around the house, navigating myself to the grand staircase at the entrance and climbing its cold polished steps. Its very quiet in the house, I can hear my own hearbeat from my ears.
The eary silence allows me to hear my thoughts, but I'm not sure How i feel about that.
Its been a few days since that episode in his office, when I lashed out and stormed into his office like a crazy ex, demanding to see him.
Regret filled my stomach when I saw him, that he would think less of me because of my actions. But none of that mattered when I saw the gun pointing towards me, it set me off.
But I didn't expect our day to end the way it did, with me, falling asleep on his soft couch, dreaming a little dream of something..
Without realising, I've reached my bedroom door, but I found myself hesitating to open it, my hand locks with the doorknob, but for some reason, it hasn't turned. I stand there, staring at my door, until a light in my peripheral vision catches my attention.
I turn, to see the door to Ace's office slightly ajar, the light is peaking through the space between, my brows furrow.. I never heard the front door open..
My feet lead me down the hallway towards his office, setting my hot coffee on the hallway table as I pass it, as I move quietly and gently, getting closer and closer to the mystery.
I dont think I've ever been in his office before, I dont think he'd want me to be here. My eyes peak through the light that is shinning on the other side, I try to keep my movements still, waiting just on the other side of the door.
I still, when I hear the rustling of papers and knocks against a wooden desk, slowly I reach for the silver doorknob of the door and I twist it, and push it, until it opens wide, and the space is revealed in front of me.
The space was like a cozy christmas cottage in winter at peak season, it was actually snowing outside, as the massive window that was between the long bookshelves screened snow flakes falling down from above.
There was a long bookshelves, that was cut to make space for the window, it was filled with books from the top to the bottom, words on paper that I have yet to read. On the ground was a circle fur rug, made from some animal that I'm not quiet sure..
To the left was a fireplace, surrounded by brown leather couches, and a couple of board games on the coffee table in the middle, bringing in that warmth in the room. in the very centre of the room, right infront of the window and between the bookshelves was a dark timber desk, that was decorated with papers all over it, and a feather ink pen right at left corner, and a desk lamp on the other end.
