Chapter 1

"I'm a damsel, I'm in distress, I can handle this. Have a nice day!"

Walt Disney Company

Where am I?

How did I get here?

Have I been kidnapped?

Those three questions above are completely normal things to ask yourself when you wake up in an unknown bedroom with no idea how you got there.

But me? The first thing I can think to ask myself is, Where did someone get such a cool cat lamp? Is that on Amazon? If so, is there any chance I could convince my parents to buy it for me?

I know, I know. Probably not what I should have been asking myself at the moment, but seriously, you should have seen the cat lamp! It was every future-dying-alone-crazy-cat-lady's dream.

And after nearly admiring said cool cat lamp for about thirty seconds, my survival instincts must have finally stopped slacking off- along with the fear section of my brain- and I found myself kind of freaking out about the whole, you know, waking up in an unknown place deal.

My heart threatened to leap out of my chest, adrenaline pumped through my veins and the only thing I could do was sit wide-eyed on top of a bed and try and figure out what the hell was going on. The last thing I remembered was falling asleep at 2 A.M. in front of my laptop, browsing through Tumblr.

Had I really been kidnapped - from my room, in the middle of the night? Oh, God! This is horrible!

I tried to calm my racing pulse as I studied my surroundings. Surprisingly, I wasn't in some torture chamber or anything. In fact, the room looked like it belonged to me. Baby-blue walls were adorned with Harry Styles' perfect face on posters, along with different disney quotes hanging haphazardly. The floor was a matching blue carpet with different clothing items scattered around carelessly. Lastly, beside a closet, stood a white bookshelf full of the entire Nancy Drew series. I also couldn't help but notice different cat items dispersed in different areas - a cat stuffed animal on top of the bookshelf, the cat lamp on the nightstand, whiskers drawn unto a Harry Styles' poster, and an Aristocats disney quote taped to wall.

Oh, God.

No.

Please no.

This very bedroom did look like it belonged to me.

As in someone had not only kidnapped me, but most likely stalked me for several months ahead of time. I mean, that, or looked over my Facebook page for five minutes, but that's a little less dramatic.

I'm going to die a sixteen year-old virgin who's never had a boyfriend or been kissed at the hands of my stalker! I started to cry silently - tears slipping down my face and my stomach churning at my impending doom.

In my mind, I started to think of last words I could have said to my friends and family. I could only hope they'd somehow telepathically get the message.

Mom and dad, I love you. Please do not become those old people who play bingo and squint all the time, because if you do, I might just haunt your asses.

Sara, you're my best friend and have been since kindergarten. It's only fair I tell you before I die - remember when I stayed over at your house last year? I never said anything, but when I was brushing my teeth before school, I accidently dropped your toothbrush in the toilet, fished it out, and never said a word as I watched you use it.
