The base was calm now. The interrogation room had been silenced, the captives temporarily forgotten. Instead, all the energy had shifted back to the estate—where quiet footsteps padded through marble floors, soft laughter filtered through the halls, and the ever-looming reality of duty ticked in the back of their minds like a time bomb.
In the private conference room upstairs, the girls sat with their laptops and blueprints spread across the long mahogany table. Screens blinked with security footage, voice notes, audio intercepts... and behind the data, a name that buzzed with weight:
Irina.
"She has the ledgers," Jieun said, tracing her fingers over a heat-sensor floor plan. "We think she's holding them in a vault beneath her penthouse. We just don't know which one yet."
"She's got at least three in Prague alone," Lisa said with a groan, popping a grape in her mouth as she leaned back.
"I say we check all three," Jisoo chimed in, her fingers gently resting on the curve of her pregnant belly.
"You're not going to any of them," Jieun said without looking up.
"I know," Jisoo replied sweetly, batting her lashes. "I'll stay at the hotel. Promise."
Chaeyoung, seated across from her, raised a hand. "Same here. Total bedrest. No sneaking off."
Everyone turned to her. Jieun arched a brow.
Chaeyoung coughed. "Okay... maybe some minimal walking around the hotel lobby. But that's it. Scouts honor."
The girls shared a laugh. The mood was light, but beneath it, the stakes pulsed—heavy and high.
A guard walked in a bowed as low as he could. "During the interrogation a few minutes ago, Alex revealed that Irina not only holds the financial statements. She's the mastermind behind every mission, she's the brain of the gang. He confessed that their boss wanted our territory and because of that Irina sent threats to you all, to make you weak, distracted and they'll use that opportunity to take us down."
The air became significantly colder and the guard didn't dare to look into the eyes of his boss' and lady boss'. He could only stand tall, shoulders back pretending he wasn't about to pee himself.
He prayed silently in his head that he wouldn't meet the same fate his colleague suffered a few days ago.
"So she has that much guts." Jieun scoffed leaning back "She doesn't have guts, she's stupid." Namjoon muttered.
"Check everything about her, everything. I want her schedule, both personal and work related, her family, friends any she smiled at. Now!" Jennie slammed her hands on the table, causing the guard's heart to miss several beats.
Later that Afternoon...
The kids were due back in an hour. So while waiting, the parents gathered in the living room. The men were packed and ready: black duffels by the door, passports secured, weapons discreetly tucked away in the inner lining.
"We'll leave at night," Yoongi said, sipping his drink. "They've got a play at school in a few days. If Irina doesn't crack by then—"
"She will," Namjoon cut in confidently. "She won't survive Jisoo's stare."
"I'm pregnant," Jisoo huffed from the couch.
"Exactly. That makes it worse," Hoseok muttered, smirking.
Jimin turned to Chaeyoung. "You sure you'll stay put at the hotel?"
Chaeyoung, curled up beside him, rolled her eyes. "If I even think about wandering, I'll FaceTime you. Deal?"
