The estate was still quiet in that golden morning lull—birds chirping somewhere high in the trees, the scent of strong espresso still lingering in the main mansion's kitchen. Inside the spacious living room, the men lounged in various stages of worn out.
Jihyo and Momo were in their various rooms resting after not getting any sleep the entire night since they were on the plane...
Jin had his feet on the table, a half-empty mug in one hand and his other arm slung across the backrest.
Yoongi was dead silent, eyes closed, looking like he was meditating—but everyone knew he was just pretending to avoid conversation.
Jungkook lay sprawled on the rug with a pillow under his head and Hailey's favorite cartoon show still paused on the screen.
Namjoon and Hoseok sat side-by-side on the couch, deep in a low-toned conversation about intel they'd managed to extract last night. Their shirts were half-buttoned, hair still messy from the rush of sleep and war.
Taehyung had a robe on like he owned a beach resort, flipping through a travel magazine with a dramatic sigh every now and then.
And Jimin... Well, Jimin had fallen asleep with his head on the armrest. His soft snore made Yoongi twitch once in irritation—but the older man didn't open his eyes. He was at peace.
Until—
"We need a vacation, no bullets, no missions...just us." Taehyung murmured earning a nod from Jungkook.
"Maybe an island far from all the chaos, it'll only be us and carrots."
"Why carrots?" Hoseok asked "Why not carrots?" Jungkook replied "I'd prefer mangoes..." Jimin murmured eyes still closed.
Knock knock.
The front doors creaked open and a young female guard entered, nervously clearing her throat.
"Uh... Message from the base," she said, standing awkwardly at the edge of the living room.
Jin opened one eye. "That bad already?"
She saluted. "Lady Jieun requested your presence at the command room. Recon mission. Overseas. She said—and I quote—'Tell them it's their job to bounce back.'"
Namjoon blinked. "She really said that?"
"Yes, sir."
Hoseok chuckled, leaning forward. "Yup. Sounds like her."
Jungkook groaned from the floor. "We just got back. I haven't even slept properly in 48 hours."
"Did they say where we're going?" Taehyung asked, tossing the magazine aside.
"Prague," the guard replied. "Apparently a woman named Irina might be holding crucial files and account links to Volkova's operations. She's essential if we plan on taking down Volkova."
That got Yoongi to finally open his eyes. "Irina?"
"Confirmed," Namjoon said, rubbing the back of his neck. "She's been on the edges of our radar, but no one ever got close."
"Looks like we're flying out," Jin sighed, sitting up straight and finishing the rest of his coffee.
Jimin finally stirred, groaning into the armrest. "Tell Jieun to stop scheduling life-threatening missions when I've just gotten cuddled by my pregnant wife, please."
"Madam Jieun said she takes care of you," the guard added hesitantly.
Yoongi laughed under his breath. "That's her saying get your ass moving."
Thirty Minutes Later...
The men were dressed, alert, and seated around the digital screen in the control room upstairs. The kids had all gone off to school. Breakfast dishes had been cleared. The women were already preparing for departure.
They scrolled through images of the Prague penthouse, each frame sharper than the last—satellite footage, street-level views, blueprints.
"High security," Namjoon muttered. "She's got multiple exits, two underground tunnels, and a dozen hired guards."
"Fake identities, rotating codes," Hoseok added. "The only way in is to go clean. Smooth. Smart."
Yoongi cracked his neck. "We've done worse."
"I'll go prep the burner passports and clearance docs," Jin said, already pulling out a drawer of forged papers.
"And I'll tell Lisa to let me take one of the upgraded tech packs," Jungkook mumbled as he checked the screen layout.
Meanwhile, Jimin and Taehyung exchanged a look.
"I still can't believe Chaeyoung snuck into the base," Taehyung whispered. "You know the smell down there messes with her nose."
"She's definitely grounded," Jimin said with a smirk, though his eyes glinted with fondness. "But damn if I don't love her guts."
Elsewhere, at the base...
Chaeyoung rubbed her belly gently while watching the monitors. She wasn't supposed to be here, but she wanted to see how things played out. Jisoo had already sent her back upstairs, ordering snacks and extra cushions for her, but she snuck back in like a rebellious teen.
"You're getting your reckless side from your aunties," she murmured to her baby bump.
A voice behind her cleared their throat.
Chaeyoung jumped. "I swear if that's you Jimin—!"
It was Ryoko.
"Relax," the medic smirked. "I'm just here to check your blood pressure, not scold you."
Chaeyoung huffed. "They're never letting me live this down."
Meanwhile, the boys were locked and loaded.
The next flight out of the estate's private airstrip would take them to Prague.
And Irina would either cooperate...
Or disappear.
