Zhuxin's voice echoed through the still air, her words delicate yet filled with weight. "Harith," she called softly, her figure glimmering like the light of distant stars. "Tell me, do you wish to save someone... or to save yourself?"

The question hung in the air between them, like a fragile thread ready to snap. Harith stood still, his chest tight, unsure of how to answer. His mind swirled with conflicting thoughts-the endless cycle of doubt and fear.

Save someone? Save himself?

His heart ached with the image of Harley, his friend, his love. The young boy who had brought him joy in the darkest of times. The one who had stood by him even when Harith felt like nothing more than a broken piece of a lost world. But... could he save him? Was there even a chance, or was he simply holding on to an impossible dream?

Harith clenched his fists, trying to push the thoughts aside. "I... I don't know," he whispered, his voice barely audible.

Zhuxin regarded him with a soft, understanding gaze. She was silent for a moment, as if weighing his turmoil before speaking again. "The soul is fragile, Harith," she said gently. "It is easily torn, but even in its brokenness, there is hope." She stepped closer, her presence calm, almost soothing, yet filled with an ancient wisdom.

"You have walked a difficult path," she continued, "and yet, in this moment, you must ask yourself what truly matters. Can you save him... or will you destroy yourself in the process?"

Harith's chest tightened at the thought, and he struggled to find his voice. His thoughts scattered between Harley, Granger, Alucard, and even the deep connection he shared with Zhuxin herself. But it was Harley that haunted him-the boy who, despite everything, had given him so much love and courage.

Harith stood silently, the golden glow of the lantern brushing against his face, warming the chill in his bones. Zhuxin had said nothing else. She simply waited, her presence like a soft hum in the background of his turbulent thoughts.

He stared into the light, and for a moment, it felt like looking inward-into everything he had tried to suppress. And then, his lips parted.

"I don't know when it started. Maybe it was the way he always smiled like the world wasn't broken. Like he wasn't broken. I hated myself for so long... for not being enough, for surviving when others didn't. For the things I've done. For what I am."

His voice cracked, and he lowered the lantern slightly, letting the butterflies settle on his shoulders like tiny anchors, keeping him grounded.

"But Harley... he made me feel like I could be more than the mess I've become. He never asked anything from me-not answers, not apologies. He just stayed. Even after I, somewhat, pushed him away. Even after he saw me at my worst."

Harith closed his eyes, clutching the lantern tighter.

"I never told him... not truly. That I love him. That it's not just friendship, not just comfort. It's everything. When I'm with him, I remember who I wanted to be, not what I've turned into. And I hate myself for doubting him now, even after all we've been through. I hate that I let fear speak louder than love."

A shuddered breath escaped him, the words tumbling out like a flood, too long held back.

"I want to wake up and see him sleeping beside me. I want to walk beside him, not just in battle but in peace. I want to laugh with him, cry with him... grow old, if we're ever allowed that. I want every stolen second we lost back. And I know I don't deserve it. Not after what I've done. But gods, I want it."

He paused, the silence trembling around him, as if the world itself held its breath.

"I would give everything," he whispered, "everything I am, everything I was, everything I will ever be... just to see him free. Happy. Alive."

Zhuxin's expression didn't change immediately, but after a breathless moment, she let out the softest sigh-and smiled. It wasn't pity. It wasn't indulgent. It was warm. Genuine. Like a mother seeing her child finally speak his truth.

"Then you are ready," she said, her voice low and steady. "Not because of your love alone-but because you understand its weight. Its cost. That is what gives a wish its power."

Harith felt something shift. Not peace-never peace-but clarity. The kind that comes when your heart has been broken wide open, and yet, it still chooses to beat.

Zhuxin smiled faintly, her expression serene yet tinged with a sadness that Harith could not quite place. She took a step back, lifting her lantern-a lantern that shimmered with an ethereal light-and held it out to him.

"This lantern," she explained softly, "has the power to grant a single wish. It is the key to what you seek. But, remember, not all wishes come without a price."

The glow of the lantern intensified, casting long shadows over the ground. Harith felt an overwhelming sense of warmth flood through him as the light bathed his face. The butterflies, their delicate wings painted in shades of purple, pink, and black, fluttered around them, their presence almost... protective.

But despite the calming aura, Harith's heart raced. The weight of her words pressed on him. A wish-a single wish to save Harley, to be with him. Was it possible? Was it right?

"Harith," Zhuxin spoke again, her voice gentle, yet insistent. "Do you understand what it means to make such a wish? The lantern will grant it, but you must be willing to give more than you have ever given before."

Her words lingered in his mind like an echo, drawing out his deepest fears and desires. Could he truly save Harley, or was he simply clinging to a hope that would never materialize?

He turned back to Zhuxin, his eyes filled with a mixture of fear and determination. "What will happen to me if I wish for this?"

Zhuxin's eyes met his, deep and unreadable. "The soul is delicate, Harith. The price may be more than you are willing to pay. But you have the power to choose."

She held out the lantern to him once more, the soft light of its glow reflecting in her eyes. "The choice is yours, and yours alone."

Harith stared at the lantern, his hands trembling as he reached for it. The weight of his decision crushed him, but as he took the lantern into his grasp, he could feel something stirring within him. The butterflies, as if sensing his resolve, fluttered around him, their wings glowing brighter.

He raised the lantern higher, its light illuminating the surrounding landscape. The scent of sweet flowers filled the air, mingling with the gentle breeze that ruffled his hair. Yet, beneath it all, Harith's heart remained heavy.

Zhuxin stepped back, her smile faint but sincere. "I will not walk with you, Harith. This path is yours to take. But know that I will be watching."

Harith nodded, his gaze locked on the lantern. He had made his choice. But the questions still lingered in his heart.

As he turned to leave, Zhuxin's voice called out to him once more.

"Remember, Harith... true strength comes not from what you wish, but from what you are willing to sacrifice."

Harith's footsteps echoed through the quiet space, the weight of the lantern heavy in his hands. He didn't know what the future held, but he was certain of one thing-he had to save Harley. He would give anything for that.

The butterflies danced around him, their wings shimmering in the lantern's glow as he walked into the unknown.
