Also Hlín is 22 in this despite the picture saying 17 on the last chapter thing.------
I opened my eyes and was blinded by the direct sunlight from the sunrise. I didn't get many hours of sleep, but it would work. I sat up and stretched with a low groan passing my lips. I rubbed my eyes as I stood up, kicking Balthazar lightly to wake him up. He grumbled and put his wing over his eyes.
"Wake up you lug muffin." I laughed as he glared at me.
"Oh no, don't give me that look. You always get mad if I don't wake you and when I do you get mad, so hush." he rolled his eyes as I put on my claws. I strapped them on tightly and then stretched my arms. I must've slept in a weird position last night. I made sure I had everything, I haven't washed my clothes in a week, so today was laundry day too. I can wash my clothes in the hot water springs then clean myself in them.
"Ready? If we leave now we can make it there in a few hours." I turned to see Balthazar asleep again.
"Balthazar!" I scolded, but laughed when he opened his eyes. "Come on, we'll get some fish on the way there and make a nice trip. I will even let you steer." I tempted. No movement still.
"Fine, I'm steering and you can wait till we get to Ember Island to eat. Now get up." he lazily got up all while sending me a glare. I got on his neck and he took off flying toward Ember Island.
"Jeez, I cannot win with you, can I?" I asked as I petted his neck. He grumbled, but I just rolled my eyes at that. I sat straight as I watched the open ocean. You know that feeling you get when you stare at a fire and you can just see the flames dancing and making beautiful patterns that just entrance you? That is what it is like looking at the ocean for me.
I sighed in content as I gazed forward. The ride was to prove peaceful, until I got an idea.
"Balthazar, want to test you speed?" his head turned toward me almost taking off mine in the process from his head spikes. I chuckled as he began his incline passed the clouds. I chuckled lowly at his eagerness. To test Balthazar's speed, we go very high into the clouds then I jump off and he has to rescue me, if not, then I get a really cold and hard water death.
Balthazar has never failed me and we never go to where he couldn't reach me in time, it was a safety net. Now, I stood on Balthazar's leg.
"Ready?" he looked at the clouds then me and then back at the clouds.
"I'll take that as a yes. Okay, here I go." I jumped off his arm and sky rocketed passed the clouds. I chuckled as I turned on my back and opened my arms. Balthazar was already hot on my trail. I chuckled, my hood snug on my head now.
Balthazar fell next to me, upside down as I was currently. I chuckled as he let his tongue hang out. I looked up, well down, to see the ocean nearing.
"Alright." Balthazar flew under me and allowed me to get on before opening his wings, instantly slowing us down.
"I wish I could fly like you. To just go where ever I wanted, whenever I wanted. I guess that's why I have you." I teased. He did a body roll and made me pop off of his back and back on, roughly.
"Hey," I complained. He grumbled a laugh. I rolled my eyes at him as we continued to Ember island.
"Hello!" Balthazar turned to where the voice came from and to my surprise I saw a guy my age riding a Night Fury, I thought those were extinct. He flew down to us and looked at Balthazar with a shocked expression.
"How did you ever train a Skrill dragon?" he looked surprised to say the least.
"I could ask the same to you, a Night Fury. I have heard these to be extinct." the Night Fury ears dropped. "Maybe I have just been antisocial too long, besides it is a tell tale." the Night Fury ears perked back up.
