Jane's POV

The next morning I woke up late and the whole gang was already in the living room. Today was Sunday. So I had to go to school tomorrow even though I really didn't want to. When I got out to the living room Johnny said "good morning." And Darry said "3 Days till your birthday little sis." I completely forgot my birthday was coming. Then Pony gave me a big hug and said "You really slept in today." "Yeah I know sorry." I said. "No need to be sorry I'm just saying that's not usual for you." Then we sat down on the couch and started to watch TV. I didn't realise it till now but Johnny was sitting next to me. After a little while of TV Soda and Steve left for work. Darry doesn't usually work on Sundays so when we went to the DQ he came with us. We all enjoyed some Ice cream and talked for a while. Then I asked "Hey Darry can I start heading home?" I didn't feel like waiting up because they were all playing around. "Sure Jane go ahead. Ya got your blade?" Darry said "No. I forgot it at home." I said. "Don't worry Darry I'll go with her." Johnny said. Then we left. A little bit after we walked out the door Johnny said "You wanna talk about the kiss?" I didn't know what to say but I then found a detour out of the conversation "I would but look." I said pointing to a blue mustang. It pulled up and they all hoped out. There were 4 socs and 2 of us. Good thing Johnny had his blade. I then realised that the one guy was they guy with the rings. The one that beat up Johnny a few weeks back. "Johnny man it's the guy with the rings." They staggered over to us so they were obviously drunk. "Why ya so tense ya greasers?" The guy with the rings said "Anybody got a drink for these greasers?" He asked his friends the one handed up a beer bottle and handed it to me. There was a fence right near us so I quick took the bottle and broke it on the fence and Johnny took out his blade "Back off!" I screamed. Then one in the back said "And what will happen it if we don't?" So I cut the guy with rings on his arm with the bottle then put my hand out for Johnny's blade and he handed it to me and I dropped the bottle and held the blade close to his neck and said "This is what will happen you won't have your precious leader." They all quick backed off and hopped into there car. Then Johnny said "Nice work." And I handed him back his blade then bent down and started to pick up the glass and Johnny said "What are turned doing Curtis?" "I'm picking up the glass." "Your just like Pony." He said as I put the glass in a near by trash can. Then we started walking again but then Johnny brought it up again "Do you wanna talk about the kiss?" I knew I couldn't avoid it any more. "I love you you Johnny. One big reason I kissed you is because you are so caring and sweet and it reminds me of someone." He looked into my eyes for a moment "And said who this someone. And I love you too." "It's um........ my Brother. Not Darry or Soda but Pony. Pony has always cared for me and made sure in was safe. You and Pony are the two people I trust the most." But what I didn't know was that Pony had caught up with us and was right behind us. Then Pony put his arms over mine and Johnny's shoulders and said "Well that's good to know."
