I woke up the next morning and Darry was asleep in a chair next to my bed. I reached over and shook him a bit. "Oh um Morning Jane. How ya feeling?" He said half asleep. "Better but you didn't have to stay in here all night." I said. But he was gonna be stubborn old Darry and said "Yes I do. Soda, Pony and I are gonna rotate tacking care of you." Witch I thought was a fine plane then I remembered something "Wait Darry before you go back to sleep I never got my presents yesterday. Can I get them today?" He shook his head and dosed off. Only one problem I had to go to the bathroom and I didn't want to wake up Darry again. And just like that my prayers were awnsered. Pony walked in and said "Hey Jane." "Hey Pony I gotta ask a favor. I know it's Darry's day to take care of me but can you help me walk to the bathroom." He then shook his head and helped me up. Then he walked me across the hall to the bathroom. He closed the door behind himself and I thought "How am I gonna deal with this for a week." Then Pony walked me back to my bed and we started talking. He told me how Darry was super worried when I didn't come home. He told me a lot about what happened while I was unconscious. Then I said "Hey Pony can I ask you something?" He shook his head and I said "Ok so last night when you walked in on me. I had my shirt up to expose my bra. Why did you act like this was nothing new?" He shrugged then said "Cus I had to hold your shirt up while Darry wrapped you up." I shook my head then said "And what did you guys think when the doctor left my shirt up?" He just shrugged again "We didn't really think much about it. But just to say when I first saw the bruises all over your ribs I........ I was afraid any time soon you would die and just stop breathing. Jane just so you know we don't care that we saw your bra. Our eyes were on the bruises the doctor and you." I smiled and he left to make breakfast. I dosed off before he came back though.

A couple minutes later I woke up to Pony shaking me. "Hey want something to eat?" He was holding a plate of eggs and toast. I shook my head Yes and he sat down the plate on my night table. Then he helped me sit up even though I was mouning in pain the whole time. "Hey Pony did we get those pain killers yet?" "Yeah we got em' last night after you fell asleep. Why ya need some?" I shook my head very slowly because it hurt to move. He came back a few minutes later with two pills and a glass of water. I swallowed the pills and then he handed me my plate. Then he came back with his own breakfast and sat at the end of my bed. We then sat there and talked. After a little while Darry woke up to us talking. He walked out to the kitchen and grabbed his own plate. Then after awhile Soda joined us. Every couple minutes they would ask me if I'm ok. After about an hour of talking Soda went to watch TV and Pony went to read a book. Darry and I started to talk. Then I got bored and said "Hey Darry will help me walk out to the living room so I can watch TV?" "Sure Jane." He helped me up and we started to walk...... or limped for me... out to the living room. He sat me down on the couch. I tried to sit up as strait as I could because it hurt to slouch. It was only 10:00. I was surprised the boys woke up this early. When it reached about 10:30 the whole gang walked in with presents in hand I guess Darry called them and told them to bring those. "Happy late birthday Girly." Two-Bit said ruffiling my hair. Then Steve asked "How ya doin?" I lifted up my shirt high enough so they could see the wrap "Still wrapped and on pain killers currently." They all sat on the floor surrounding me in a big circle. I starred with Two-Bit's present it was a Minnie mouse sweatshirt. Witch was perfect because I needed something loose to hang out in. Then I went to Steve's gift. He gave me 5 packs of paper clips. When I opened them he burst out laughing and started rolling around on the floor. After I said "Real funny." He handed me a different present that had "Real present" written on it in sharpie. I opened it and found a necklace. The necklace said "Jane" after Jane it had an engraving of a heart. I put it on right away. Then I went to Dally's gift. He gave me a leather jacket just like his. Johnny then handed me his gift. He gave me a bracelet that had little hearts on each bead. Then I went to Pony's gift. Pony gave me a small lamp for my room. I had been asking for one for a while so this was perfect. Soda wanted to go last so I opened Darry's present next. Darry gave me a picture of us four kids when we were younger. Then I opened Soda's. His made me cry. He gave me a picture. But this picture was of mom and dad holding me when I was born. When I started crying Darry came and sat next to me on the couch. He started to pet my hair and he said "I'm sure they would have loved to be here today." That made me cry even more. Then I put my face in my palms and I felt Pony's arms wrap around my neck. I quick put my head on his shoulder and started to bawl my eyes out. When the crying started to slow down I lifted my head up and saw who I thought I was crying on. I thought it was Pony who came over but when I looked up I saw Soda. I saw I made his shirt damp with how hard I was crying. I looked him straight in the eyes and said "Thank you." He then whipped my tears away and I smiled.
