Epilogue

Every story has a beginning and an end. Every story has to be told whether or not someone listens.

But you listened and I’m thankful. Maxi had to be known and so did her story.

So that was Maxi. Now you know- now we all know. Nothing ordinary about her but special in every single way.  When somebody is that strong, that devoted, that beautiful all at the same time there is nothing that you can’t love about them.

I’m only sorry that you never had your chance to know her and that I never did.

Yes I found this story in a box. A box in a room. A room of a teenage boy. Not any boy, but my father. I think he wanted to make sure the world remembered Maxi, that I remembered Maxi, just the way he had.

I never knew my mother but my father was more than enough. He loved me until the day he died. That was four days ago when he finally got to see my mum once again.  It didn’t hurt him, he knew it was his time- he had been battling cancer for three years and he had prepared himself for death. Everyone had said goodbye and he was at peace. Just as he drifted off for the final time he said “You’re just like her.”

That's it. It's over.

I know it was short but it was never meant to be a great, long novel.

Thank you all for reading :)
