A short chapter, yes, but it's an important one

Venenum panted as he tried to catch up with Fulgur who was far ahead of both Ignis and Venenum.

They'd been running for three hours straight, Venenum hadn't been this tired since the war when they all had walked, ran, and fought at the volcano, it was too dangerous to stop to rest with all the fire demons hunting for them.

What Venenum wouldn't do for a beefy sandwich right now.

"Fulgur!!!" Ignis called after the red knight, but the other didn't stop, despite that being the eighteenth time that Ignis had called after Fulgur with a strong voice, mixing that with Venenum's thirty four hoarse calls.

"I'm going to fireball him," Ignis muttered, "Or let him get killed because of his idioticy."

Venenum let out a strangled laugh.

"Maybe we should hang back and wait for him to slip on some ice, he didn't even stop at Medusa's lair, and I swear he one hit punched the fish and Snakeys in the face, I think his boots are still filled with water, they'll probably freeze and he'll get hypothermia and we'll have to chop off his legs," Venenum jokes.

"Well, then we should tell him that, so I'm just going to fireball him," Ignis said as he bolted forward with sprinting speed, Venenum chuckled as Ignis quickly caught up with Fulgur with reserved energy.

And just like he said, Ignis fireballed him, Venenum wasn't sure where, but Venenum knew he was successful when Fulgur yelped and proceeded to scold Ignis with less than kind words.

When Venenum finally caught up with the two, Fulgur was sitting on a rock, his foot tapping aggressively on the ground, and Ignis was there beside him, likely grinning under his helmet, a helmet that hadn't come off since they had reunited with Glacies now that Venenum thought about it, and Ignis wouldn't let-

Venenum shook his head, he'd ask Ignis later- if Fulgur would stop running them ragged to get Glacies back, it wasn't that Venenum wasn't concerned about the fact that Glacies was kidnapped, or that Viburnum was a traitor, or that the closer they got to the Evil Wizard's lair, the more danger they were all in and the more peril Ignis was in, but right now, they needed a break before they got to Iceskimo territory.

"We need-"

"-to get to Glacies, yeah, I know, we know, buuuut, he was taken by the Necromancer, the guy that has barely even shown the level of his power now, and that traitorus piece of crap that might not even care about what happens to Glacies and will kill him the second we get too close, yeah, we'll leave the Iceskimo for you to do as you wish," Ignis interrupted Fulgur and Fulgur growled as his tapping foot sped up.

"Okay, Fulgur, can you just take a deep breath for me?" Venenum asked as he sat beside Fulgur.

"I'm fine! It's Glacies who isn't fine!! They aren't planning to simply kill him! What if they do something! What if they bring the Frost King back through Glacies or something!?" Fulgur panicked, his hands flying all over the place.

"Glacies can take care of himself," Ignis snapped as he folded his arms.

"Like he did when he let his wound get infected and bleed!?" Fulgur retorted sharply, standing up.

"He what!?" Venenum cried as he stood up and got between them.

"On his way to the dock with Viburnum, Glacies refused to let Viburnum look at his wound, it got infected and Glacies had passed out," Ignis explained briefly.

"I knew something was wrong when Glacies was adamant that he was fine when we got off the boat!! I..." Venenum took a deep breath and fiddled with his hands.
