7 MONTHS LATER I FINALLY GOT ANOTHER CHAPTER OUT!!!!!
They were getting close to the Frost Palace, close to Glacies, and Fulgur was once again, very far ahead of them, but Venenum had been able to keep up nicely, he really needed that rest.
Ignis had yet to keep his promise to Venenum, but he didn't plan to say anything until the other pressed him about it. In fact, Ignis wasn't sure if Venenum even remembered, he was extremely exhausted when he spoke to Ignis.
"You think Glacies is doing okay?" Venenum asked softly after having been in silence for a long while of walking.
"Of course, this is Glacies, I know things got bad when he was separated from us before, but-"
"N-No, I mean... Viburnum was Glacies' friend, if he fooled Glacies into thinking he was his friend, Glacies of all people... he's constantly battling Fulgur for the position of most closed off, and I don't want this to be the reason that Glacies gets worse."
"What about me?" Ignis tried to joke, but Venenum stiffened, his steps stiffened.
"You... Ignis... you're not closed off, you know as much about yourself as we do, which is next to none. You've only told me that you never knew your parents and you've been in the kingdom all your life, and I believe you when you say there's nothing more that you can say for sure," Venenum assured, and Ignis sighed softly.
"I just... I wish I could do more, I know we came here in the first place to figure out what happened to the kingdom and if we could get rid of the Wizard permanently, now we're going after Glacies who's probably not in the best mental state right now..." Ignis said, and Venenum put a hand on his shoulder.
"Ignis, we'll find a way through this, we always do, and we'll go home."
"Venenum..." Ignis started but cut himself off, scoffing softly.
"What? What is it?" Venenum asked, grabbing Ignis before he could run off.
"I... once this is all over... I don't want to go back to the kingdom..." Ignis whispered, and Venenum's eyes widened.
"What?" Venenum asked softly.
Fulgur must've noticed that they stopped and turned around to go back to them.
"What's going on? Ignis? Are you in pain?" Fulgur asked, his voice laced with concern.
"I don't want to go back to the kingdom after we save it..."
"What the hell does that mean?" Fulgur asked, grabbing Ignis' shoulder.
"Don't start with me! You know exactly what I mean!" Ignis snapped, and Fulgur shoved him back.
"What? Well! Where else would you go then!?" Fulgur snapped back, and Ignis threw his hands.
"I don't know! Somewhere nowhere near the kingdom! Where I don't have to deal with the King and his bullshit!" Ignis yelled, and Fulgur groaned with frustration.
"Are you seriously going to just up and leave us!?" Fulgur growled.
"I need to get away from this hell! For the longest time I haven't been able to be myself without getting scolded or punished just for speaking my opinion or being defiant! I want to leave this damned place!" Ignis cried, and Fulgur threw his hands.
"So you're just going to leave us!?" Fulgur screamed.
"Does it look like I want to!!?" Ignis screamed back.
"STOP IT!!!" Venneum cried.
Fulgur and Ignis turned to him and Ignis was full of instant regret as he saw Venenum take off his helmet with tears in his eyes and streaming down his face.
