Worth the Fight

We're here again, again ... again? Damn, who knew we would get this far. Definitely not me.

As you know, I struggled with this book. It wasn't something I had initially planned. You fell in love with Carter and demanded a story for him. As I continued writing Carsen and Ryan's story, I knew Carter needed one. But I never knew it would come this far.

There were so many times I wanted to just walk away from this story. Sometimes, the storyline didn't seem right, and I felt like I was doing Carter and Addie wrong. Overall, it didn't click.

But after stepping away for a year, not looking at it, not writing anything, I realized how much I missed it. I actually rewrote the entire first half within two months, which was an accomplishment for me, considering I hadn't written anything for almost a year.

I cried and laughed a lot during this story. It brought closure to many characters outside of our main two ones, and I think that was why it was difficult to write it—because I couldn't come to say goodbye. But I'm genuinely happy with the outcome of this rewrite and hope you are as well.

I want to thank each and every one of you who has taken the time to read, vote, and/or comment on each chapter. Thank you to my silent readers. Thank you to those who were there from the beginning, who found my story partway through, and those who found it after I completed it. Thank you to those who supported me while I decided to take a break, and still had faith in me and stuck around.

Because without each of you, without your support and your love, I wouldn't have the motivation, the drive to continue doing this after all these years.

Now, I know I mentioned closure, but that said, I do have one more short story planned for our characters. If you follow me, then you know I already posted the cover and description for it. It's the epilogue book for all of our characters. It's only 16 chapters long, and each couple will additionally get one bonus chapter. So, in total, we have 20 chapters. You'll also get a surprise chapter at the end.

It's already all written, and I just need to edit it. However, my laptop is broken, and I'm heading to the Apple Store tomorrow to fix it. I'm hoping it won't take longer than a week. But the minute I get my laptop back, I'll post the first chapter. For now, I'll post once a week as I'm still planning out the next book and want to have a decent start before we get to that book.

It's either I give you two chapters a week with a large break between this next book and the one after, or one chapter a week and diving right into the sixth book of the UNC series as soon as we're done with the next one.

I figured you would appreciate back-to-back updates instead of a large break.
