v. SOMETHING VICIOUS
✢ ✢ ✢
It had been exactly a week since Derek had been brought back to normal while fighting a Berserker and the Hales got robbed out of one hundred and seventeen million dollars. Or in Peter's case, there was a heist. Then again, he was always one to put on a show.
For the most part, though, the money didn't have any correlation to the teenagers of Beacon Hills which was why rather than focusing on the situation heavily, they were worrying more about lacrosse tryouts which would be occurring after school that day.
It had been a year since lacrosse season, and everyone was anxious for it to start up again. It was the highlight of their high school, which was why it was thrilling to everyone. Besides, Foster was ecstatic for their season this year. While Scott may have been co - captain with Jackson last year, this would be the first year Stiles had any substantial playing time.
Besides, they were all ready to get on with their completely normal, mundane lives. It wasn't their job to find Kate at this point, the could leave that to the Calaveras who were searching high and low for her. And the money wasn't even a supernatural problem, which was why they were simply going to leave it to Peter to handle.
Scott and Stiles were currently decked out in lacrosse gear, the trio's free period upon them. They decided that to prepare themselves for later, it would be a good idea to get some practice. Foster, on the other hand, just didn't want to be alone in their study hall. Hence why she decided to come with them. Besides, she had nothing better to do.
"Of course you're still the team captain. You got your grades up just like Coach told you to, right?" Stiles inquired to Scott as they made their way over to the field. Last year, while dealing with the Jackson situation, Scott didn't do a great job at maintaining his grades. In fact, he barely passed his sophomore year which was why this year, Foster took it upon herself to study with him multiple times a week to keep him on track.
"Yeah, he never told me I was back on the team," Scott explained, shrugging. "He just told me to show up at tryouts today."
Foster shrugged, pointing out, "If he wants you at tryouts, I don't see why he wouldn't make you captain again."
"Either way, we have bigger things to deal with," Stiles pointed out, clearly referring to Kate and the money. Foster would prefer not to think about all of that and promptly get on with her life, but knowing Stiles, he wouldn't just let it go. He was always on top of everything, determined to solve even the hardest of crimes. "Did you tell Argent yet?"
"I texted him, but he didn't get back to me," Scott explained, referring to how he had to inform Argent about Kate's arrival. No one ever expected Kate to still be alive, it was only fair that they informed Chris. Whether he wanted to do anything about it was up to him. None of them would blame him if he didn't want to be bothered, especially after losing Allison.
"Well, I texted Isaac," Foster informed, knowing that Isaac had gotten back to her immediately after that. The best friends were still in constant contact even after him leaving for France. Yes, she was annoyed with him at first, but she got past it. She wasn't going to lose her best friend over his decision. "He told me he'd tell Chris, if that makes any difference."
Stiles shot the both of them incredulous looks, deadpanning, "You told him that his sister came back from the dead over text. And you told Isaac over text to tell Chris?"
"I mean, technically she didn't come back from the dead," Foster pointed out, using the technicality to her advantage. "She never died in the first place."
