xvi. HISTORY REPEATED

After the revelation of the next set of names, courtesy of the fourth cypher key, Lydia and Foster deemed that it was time they sought more help. Seeing that even they weren't quite sure as to what this list happened to be, having another knowing member of the force seemed to be a benefit. Hence why Lydia and Foster were both practically hovering over Deputy Parrish's shoulders at that point in time. Lydia had brought her laptop, and the two believed that maybe Parrish would be able to help them or possibly run the names through the server. Just anything that could give them a lead of some sort.
"Well, it's not another deadpool," Parrish spoke up, eyes analyzing the text in front of him. "More like an already dead pool."
Foster's eyes narrowed, scanning the screen. She knew Lorraine was dead, but she hadn't known a single thing about any of the others. Foster knew that Lorraine was deceased, but found herself shocked that the rest of them were, too. She began to wonder what that meant, and if they were like Lorraine in the sense that they were supernatural.
"All of them?" Foster breathed, Parrish craning his neck to glance toward her. "All dead?"
He could only nod. "All in the last ten years. All suicides and all at the same place."
With a death certificate pulled up, Foster's gaze found two frightening words of a place she knew all too well at this point. It was Eichen House, and it was a building she had hoped she'd never have to set foot into again. She had hoped that they were through with it after Meredith, but the thought of Meredith sparked something within Foster.
"It's Eichen House," Foster mused, the tip of her index finger tapping the word suicide. "And I think we knew someone else who was just in the same situation."
Lydia's head snapped up, green eyes meeting Foster's as realization hit her. How could Lydia forget? The strawberry blonde had convinced herself that Meredith's suicide was all her fault. Of course she knew what Foster was referring to the moment she spoke.
"Meredith."
Foster nodded, leaving them with the same question in mind.
What did this all mean?

"Lydia, Eichen House isn't a library. We'd need a warrant or something," Foster explained, the two girls seated in Sheriff Stilinski's office by themselves. He was out and about, and Foster wasn't exactly in the mood to talk about a deadpool in front of multiple unsuspecting people with a badge. It was rather unbecoming, in her opinion.
As of now, though, while the entirety of the lacrosse team and everyone in Beacon Hills High School was currently attending the annual bon fire, Lydia and Foster were decoding yet another cryptic message that came from none other than the Benefactor. In the span of the last half hour, Foster's phone had been going off repeatedly because of Scott questioning where she was. She meant to get back to him, she was just a little more focused on the fact that Lydia received a list of a bunch of suicides from Eichen House.
And the fact that Lydia actually wanted to go to Eichen House despite how god forsaken Foster found it to be.
Lydia raised a brow, baffled by Foster's declination. "My grandmother left a list of suicides - including her own - there's got to be a reason why."
"How do we even know Eichen will have all the answers we're looking for?" Foster inquired, knowing that they couldn't just waltz in and glance through the files.
