viii. PREP SCHOOL HORRORS

✢ ✢ ✢

The aftermath of the other night's events were hitting Foster and her friends head on, more forcefully than a train. They had uncovered a deadpool, of all things. When they thought they were all finally in the clear, it turned out that a hit list for supernatural creatures had finally surfaced. Not only that, but they had only cracked one third of aforementioned list.

On this part were Foster, Scott, Derek, Lydia, and Kira. For them, those were the most notable names since they were theirs. But just as concerning were the Walcotts. That would explain why someone had literally axed off their entire family. They were wendigos, hence why they were on the list.

Their assassin came in the form of the mute, a man with no mouth. While he seemed terrifying, he wasn't necessarily a problem for them at this point. That night, while they were cracking the code, Derek and Sheriff Stilinski had found him in the school after planting an explosive.

When finally being arrested, Peter had made his entrance and torn out the assassin's throat. That fact didn't surprise her in the slightest.

That was why herself, Stiles, and Scott were all crowded in Sheriff Stilinski's office, the four going over what was currently happening in their town. They needed to figure this out before they all found themselves with an axe lodged in their chest.

Not only that, but their friends were the highest numbers on the list. While Sean had triple digits, that was only because his was in the thousands. They may have only had one or two digits, but their prices were up in the millions.

Both Scott and Foster were worth twenty five million dollars dead.

While a true alpha having that price was understandable, Foster was confused about herself. She had no idea what she was, and none of her friends did either, which was why they were all growing more and more terrified about this entire situation. Whoever the Benefactor was, they knew what Foster was, and they clearly wanted her dead.

"So the Walcott's were the first," Stiles explained, posting up photos and various colored tape to label everything. "At least, the first that we know about. Murder; Sean, his brother, and their parents. They were killed by a professional assassin called the Mute. Weapon of choice: a military tomahawk. But then the Mute was killed by Peter Hale after he tried to blow up Derek with a claymore mine.

"Next was DeMcarco. He delivered a keg to the party at Lydia's lake house and he got decapitated outside his car," Stiles explained, pasting a photo of DeMarco's dead body up onto the board. "And then last night? Twenty three year old Carrie Hudson."

"It's a deadpool," Scott informed Stilinski, Stiles' father watching them all in understand and slight confusion. The fact that there was a hit list with his son's friends concerned him, but he had no idea how to go about this. While he could have his deputies work on uncovering it, that would involve him hiding the largest piece of the puzzle. How does someone solve a puzzle when they don't have all of the pieces? "A hit list of supernatural creatures." He handed Stilinski the print out of the first half. "This is only part of it, the rest still has to be decoded."

His eyes scanned over it, taking notice of Foster's and Scott's names on it. "Who found this list?"

"Lydia," Stiles piped in, knowing that it was all apart of her being a banshee. Kira and Foster explained how she heard Allison's name on an old record, that being what the cypher key was.

"How?"

"She wrote it," Stiles explained, Stilinski still struggling to comprehend the entire supernatural world. "Actually, she transcribed it without realizing it."
