First of all, thank you so much for loving my book and staying with me till the very end. ✨️❤️
I know The Bhanushali Household had its fair share of grammatical errors, a few flawed characters, and imperfections here and there. But despite all that, I still can't believe I actually completed a book . I wrote an entire book and finished it too.
It feels surreal.
So, I wanted to share a few thoughts and facts behind the story.
Reyansh-his character was inspired by my ex-boyfriend. He was calm and composed, just like Rey.
We dated back in Class 10, a typical cute school romance.
"You are beautiful" he used to say this to me all the time.
Back then, I was a chubby girl and he was a skinny boy. His friends didn't like me much, but he loved me anyway. Every time we talked, half of his sentences included "you are beautiful."
Like Rey and Siya, we also came from different castes. He had a younger brother who was just as adorable as Avy although I was never close to him the way Siya was with Avy.
He made me feel seen, loved, and truly cherished.
But unlike Rey and Siya, it was me who fell first and he fell harder.
I had a crush on him since Class 8, and we got together in Class 10. I was the one who proposed first, breaking the so-called gender norms. He rejected me at first. But years later, out of the blue, he came back and confessed his feelings.
I was on cloud nine. I didn't even stop to think about how or why he had a change of heart.
Just like Rey, I had a diary full of memories, our every little moment was penned down.
But, just like Rey and Siya, we were destined to separate.
His family found out, and he had to leave the city for higher studies. Back then, we didn't have personal phones to stay in touch.
We lost contact for months. Gradually, my feelings began to fade and I regret not loving him the way I used to.
When he came back, I didn't feel that spark anymore. He asked if we could start over, but I said no.
Imagine loving someone for two whole years, waiting for them to love you back and when they finally do, your own feelings are gone.
Sometimes, I wonder was it love, or just infatuation?
Do I regret rejecting him?
A big, honest No.
Because accepting him again without love would've been selfish. I no longer loved him, but I will forever cherish the sweet memories he gave me.
Maybe, in some parallel universe, I just wanted to know how things turned out for the couple who gets separated and then meet again.
And that was the inspiration for writing THE BHANUSHALI HOUSEHOLD.
