The surface was as beautiful as a rubbish heap could be. Buildings were toppled and crumbled, barely anything lay in tact. Sora stuck her tongue out and looked around. It was horridly quiet. She and Mikaela led the group forward, ending up in a clearing they decided would be base camp. They both sent troops around to scout the area, with the both of them sitting around in the clearing. Sora sat in the broken window of a building on the second story, and Mikaela sat on a lamp post only about 4 feet away, looking away from her as usual. She blinked her bright red eyes and leaned against the frame of the building and let one leg dangle out. She had her sword at her side ready at a moment's notice.
A good half hour went by before sora groaned. "This is so boring! Ah, hey Mikaela! I got a thing here-" she leaned over into the building to grab whatever she had, when she heard shouting. It was one of her soldiers.
"M-miss Sora! The humans, they're-" an arrow was shot through his head. A cursed weapon of all things.
She sighed and grabbed her sword, watching as Mikaela joined her on the cracked concrete now, his own sword ready. A wave of maybe 40 humans came rushing towards them. Sora took two fingers and whistled loudly, signaling to regroup.
All 11 of the vampires left had assembled. She grinned and rushed into the fight, slicing left and right and dodging attacks. She killed a good amount of the normal soldiers. With ease, and the numbers left were dwindling.
She noticed a few with cursed weapons, and Mikaela fighting off one as he was pinned to the ground.
She ran to his side and harshly kicked the human off of Mikaela, helping him up. He thanked her with a nod.
Sora went to turn around when a sword sliced through her chest. She made a sound as if gasping for air and looking down at it as time slowed for her. She saw Mikaela's sky blue eyes whip around to face her red ones.
The sword was pulled out, and a tingling burning sensation formed where the sword had been. She dropped to the ground, but was caught by Mikaela's strong arms in a flash.
She breathed with effort as she was supported by the blonde. "S-Sora.. are you okay? Just hold on." Mikaela half shouted, though it sounded blurred and fuzzy. She coughed up drops of Crimson. "Aye..."
Mikaela called something that sounded like 'retreat', and everything went black.
----------- WOOO bad story
Sora awoke conveniently placed in one of the decontamination chambers. She grumbled slightly and opened the door, grabbing a nearby towel. Her mind was blank as she went to her small area where her stuff was stored. She inhaled slowly before moving to put on the spare clothes she kept in her area.
After she was dressed, she opened the door to the rest of the area, leaving the decontamination area.
She slowly shut the door before she was tackled to the ground by Krul.
"You're such an idiot. How could you even get beat by some human!?" Lacus's voice was behind her. She shrugged. "Wasn't paying attention. I was helping Mika- chan!" She noticed said vampire leaning on a wall nearby.
Chatter went on for a minute or so before Krul stood up and went with Lacus to do something of importance, she guessed.
Sora got up and dusted herself off, walking towards Mikaela, who didn't say a word.
"Mind accompanying me for a walk?"
She walked forward a few steps before seeing Mikaela get off from leaning against the wall to follow her. She grinned to herself.
Walking around the city at night was quiet and peaceful. The only sound was the clicking of both vampire's boots clicking on the stone streets of Sanguinem. The silence was comfortable between them, not awkward. It was nice.
"Hey, Mikaela?" He didn't respond.
"Why did you go through the trouble of saving me, if you despise vampires so much?" Her curiosity dripping off her tongue with every word.
He just shrugged and looked ahead.
"Because you're the only sensible vampire, and a good ally."
She grinned. "Ahhh the stone cold killer is warming up to me!" She cheered. Mikaela scoffed, walking a bit ahead of her to hide the content look on his face
