Sora A. Kadmius sat in the back of the very small library of Sanguinem. You'd think, in a castle, there'd be countless books and a vastly large area to hold them, right? But no. Other vampires were not interested in trivial human things such as reading. She found it fascinating, though. It was a wonder how much time she spent in there, looking over only the few hundred old, dusty books at her disposal, but it was safe to say she spent much of her time there.
If she wasn't at the library, she could often be found with Krul or taking strolls in the streets and taking a peek at life for the livestock she was never generally interested in killing.
She currently had her face stuffed into a book, almost quite literally, about some thing called a whale, and other sea mammals.
Crowley stood behind her and flicked her head. Startled, the female jumped up and almost kicked him in the face, due to reflexes.
She sighed and put her foot down. "You're lucky I don't hate you." She muttered sourly at the taller male.
He grinned, resting a hand on her head. "Don't be bitter, Sora! Come on, come on! You're always cooped up in this dusty library all day and night that you never do anything fun." He said cheerfully. The shorter female huffed. What was there to even do in this junk of a city?
She slapped his hand off with an annoyed face. "I do get out, for your information." She glared daggers at the lower ranked progenitor.
He shot her a look that made it look like he thought otherwise. She just rolled her eyes and walked out of the library towards the room where she felt at peace, the tea room with Krul.
She took a seat on the fluffy couch with a loud sigh as Krul sipped her tea. "Run out of books to read?" She asked calmly, barely looking up from her cup.
Sora shook her head. "Crowley won't leave me alone."
"You could always kill him."
"Definitely not. I'd have to talk to the progenitor council for that, and I'd probably get my rank lowered." She grumbled.
Krul just shrugged. Sora stood up abruptly after about two hours of small talk.
"I'll be taking my leave then. Thanks for the tea, milady." She bowed a bit before exiting the room and the castle, hoping for a leisurely stroll around the houses, or huts more like it.
She passed the blonde male who'd never spoken a word to her. Krul's puppy. She hardly paid him mind, although her curiosity about a half human was over the roof. He was doing nightly rounds. She wasn't ever on the list for such trivial duties such as patrols. She was too highly ranked for that. Passing him, she hoped he would stay silent as ever and ignore his superior.
"What are you doing out?" Bloody hell. She turned to face the taller male with an entirely fake grin.
"Just taking a nightly stroll." She said casually, shifting her hair over her shoulder. He squinted slightly, but kept the same hateful scowl on his face he always had when he talked to vampires. She knew he hated her kind. She took a few steps towards the male. "You should be patrolling, not questioning your superior." She grinned, hoping this would be over soon. Mikaela turned swiftly, cape billowing behind him and continuing his patrols, as it seemed. Letting out a sigh she didn't know she was keeping in, she moved back towards the direction of her goal.
Of course, the streets were empty. Any kid knew it wasn't safe after 8. You'd be fair game. And dead meat. Walking casually, she noticed the faint lights coming from each home. It was a dim glow, but pleasant and comforting.
She was very much aware that children hated vampires. She herself was no exception to any of the children.
She knocked softly on a door. In a few seconds it opened to reveal a small 8 year old girl with long blonde hair.
Sora grinned. Except for these kids.
She nodded and knelt down to her level, which didnt take too long or much effort, as she was short already.
"I brought you all something. Mind letting me in?" She said with a grin. The girl reluctantly opened the door wide enough to let the female vampire in. The other children running around the house stopped and stared. They were used to her visits, but she still could kill them at any second if she wished so, and they knew.
She sat down on the wood floors and crossed her legs, grabbing a bag from the inside of her cape.
She held it out to one of the kids, named Yuro, a little 10 year old boy who was sweeter than sugar.
He peeked inside it, then gave her a grin. "Thank you miss Sora." She smiled and ruffled his hair slightly. She'd preferred to make a relationship with the kids. At least some of them were more friendly than the rest of her entire species. She enjoyed small talk with the children now for a while.

Mikaela watched from the window of the house. Of course, Sora was his superior, and easily had more skill and a few hundred years on him probably, but he still didn't trust her kind.
She looked genuinely interested and happy to be around the humans. And she didn't even have the hungry look most vampires gave towards livestock. She gave them a bag of what he assumed to be food, and now she was chatting with them and playing with one of the smaller kids.
He sighed. They reminded him of his own family he had.
She got up off of the ground and waved to the kids before exiting the house.
She shut the door quietly and walked back out onto the dimly lit stone streets, letting out a sigh. She enjoyed the company of the human children. There was nothing else to it. She watched her feet patter on the stones as she made her way back to her own home when she was pulled back and into a dark alley and pinned against the wall. With a small shriek as her back hit stone, she looked up.
Mikaela hyakuya.
His hands were on either side of her head, his sky blue eyes glittering in the dark. She shot him a glare. "Tsk.. what do you want?"
He shot her an equally as menacing look. "I wanna know." He said flatly.
She tilted her head, heart pounding in her ears. If she was actually caught conversing and smuggling to 'livestock', she'd definitely never hear the end of it.
"Know what?" She growled, crossing her arms.
He huffed. "You know what I'm talking about. You giving that stuff to the H-" She shoved her hands over his mouth quickly.
"Shut up, idiot! keep your damn voice down!" She hissed. After a few seconds, she dropped her hands.
"Fine, you caught me. Do whatever, but just don't tell anyone, alright? I have a reputation to uphold and kids to feed here. If I'm demoted or killed, they'll starve." She grew worried. She and Mikaela were never close. He could easily tell Krul and benefit his ranking, and she doubted he'd feel guilty.
He looked away. "Don't be stupid. I just want to know why." He scoffed. She rolled her eyes and looked around her. She'd love to look anywhere except his piercing icy blue stare.
"I'm...curious." she stated plainly.
"About?" He pressed.
"Humans. How they work, and all that. But really, i pity them. This is a horribly dreary situation for them, and i want to give them a little bit of sparkle." She grumbled, looking away. Mikaela hated humans and vampires, so she was very much unsure what he'd do or say.
"That's thoughtful." He mumbled, lifting himself off from the wall and continuing his patrols without another word.
"What the..."
