After the incident with Mikaela, Sora hardly left her home. She'd sit and ponder for hours why he hadn't told anyone yet. Sure, he was half human. So she assumed he'd be like all other adults and be selfish and use her for personal gain like both species did.
It was rational of him to do so. They didn't have any sort of relationship. He wouldn't feel guilty.
For no reason, it wouldn't leave her mind. She sat in the library on this day, determined to leave the house and distract herself for once after four days of this torture. She had her eyes firmly fixed on a book, her bright red orbs moving across the page, but not reading a single word. She was way too distracted.
"Feeling well?" Sora jumped a bit. Turning her head, she noticed Ferid and his cocky little smirk he always wore. She despised the man.
"Fine, thank you." Her grip on the book became tighter. Just hearing his voice aggravated her to no end.
He stood leaning against a bookshelf a good seven feet from her sitting position.
"You're awfully pale, darling." She cringed. "Have you been drinking enough?" He asked calmly, though she knew he didn't care at all. It confused her why he even bothered.
"Yes, i have, swine." She retorted dryly.
Ferid put a hand over his heart like he was offended. "Dearest me, milady Kadmius' words are like a dagger piercing through my heart!" She scoffed at the overdramatic scene before her and shut the book. "What is it you want, Bathory?"
He grinned and stopped his act with a grin. "I love a woman who gets straight to the point. Krul needs you." He stated. Sora immediately sighed and got up, passing the obnoxious male without another glance.
She was then reminded how grateful for the rank she was ahead of him. One rank was all she needed to still feel above of his cocky self.
Walking through the silent, large halls to Krul's room was always a delight. It was wonderful hearing her boots click against the marble floors and the echo that moved about the area. Seeing the occasional guard was a signal that she wasn't alone, and it slightly comforted her to know that there was a place in this wretched city than was peaceful and empty and safe.
She ended up at the large door of the third progenitor.
Slowly opening it up, she sighed, preparing herself for whatever punishment she was getting. What she got was the familiar carpet, Krul, and a tall white cape dressed around a head of blonde hair. She sweatdropped and hesitantly took her place beside Mikaela and stood in front of Krul's large chair. Sora stood a good 3 feet away from the male and gave him worried glances every once in a while before Krul spoke.
"I'm sure you're wondering why you're here." She directed her red eyes to Sora, who flinched.
She stole a glance at Mika fill of mostly hatred. She opened her mouth to speak when Krul cut her off.
"I'm sending you two up to the surface to patrol around and keep guard around the area above us. Humans have been snooping around as of recent, and we need them gone." She said blandly.
"Why just two of us?" Sora asked after a second. "Shouldn't we get more soldiers?"
Krul waved her hand. "You both get six of your own unit to control for this. Sora, pick twelve of your best and make your way to the surface. Meet back together at the entrance once you've gathered everything. "
Mikaela didn't say a word. Sora just nodded and left, her cape swishing behind her. She had an air of confidence and it would look like she was privileged. But she felt nothing of the sort.
After an hour, she'd gathered twelve of her best and gathered them at the entrance. Mikaela was already waiting, and looking off in the distance.
She scoffed and rounded up her troops. "six of you are following Mikaela's order. Do as told and try your best." She said calmly, patting the sword at her side.
The vampires nodded and obeyed orders, dispersing into two groups. She glanced at Mikaela, who returned it, and nodded, proceeding to walk forward.
She stole occasional glances at the blonde. She had no idea why he wasn't decently ranked. He was quick and smart, and agile as hell. She'd assumed he'd be ranked 12 or something by now. She shrugged and looked ahead, where a battle awaited them.
