Chaeyoung had texted Jungkook, asking if he was free to grab coffee. But he replied a little later, saying he was out of town for the day for a business meetup. He asked if they could meet the following morning instead. She did not mind - something about having a little more time to gather her thoughts felt right. She agreed without hesitation.

Now, a day later, she sat at a quiet corner table in a small café - not Jungkook's, but another one he suggested to her. The morning crowd was light, the soft hum of clinking cups and distant conversation wrapping the space in a gentle calm. Her hands were wrapped around a warm cup of coffee as she stared out the window, waiting.

Her thoughts drifted easily as the minutes passed.

She remembered the conversations she had with two lovely and wiser women. Firstly, her mother whose voice was filled with quiet reassurance. The way she had spoken about love - not as something to fear, but something to accept, to welcome, when it felt right. You're allowed to feel again, her mother had told her. And you deserve love.

Then, there was Jungkook's mother - accepting, kind, and so genuine in the way she spoke with her. She did not know exactly what would come next, but the support from both women made something in her heart feel just a little more certain.

A soft smile touched her lips at the memory.

"Chaeyoung?"

The voice startled her slightly, and she looked up to find Jungkook standing beside the table, a quiet warmth in his expression.

"Oh, hey..", she said, surprised, quickly straightening in her seat.

He smiled as he slipped into the chair across from her, "Sorry. Didn't mean to sneak up on you."

Chaeyoung shook her head, "Oh no, it's okay. I was..just lost in my thought."

"Good thoughts, I hope?", he asked playfully.

Chaeyoung smiled before talking slower this time, "Yeah. The kind you don't mind getting lost in."

Realizing how he was looking at her, she looked down, suddenly aware of the warmth creeping into her cheeks.

"Sorry, I didn't...mean it that way.", she said softly.

Jungkook smiled, his tone light. "No, it's fine.."

She glanced at him, a little shy but smiling, then gestured to the cup across from her. "I, uh, already ordered for you. I hope that's okay."

His brows lifted slightly in surprise as he reached for it. "Oh, this one's mine?"

Chaeyoung gave a small nod. "Yeah. I just picked what you usually go for."

Jungkook chuckled, a quiet warmth in his voice. "Thank you."

She smiled in return, then looked away, fingers brushing along the edge of her own cup. A quiet pause settled between them - not uncomfortable, just full of things neither of them had quite found the words for.

Then, at the same time, they both spoke.

"I've been meaning to-"

"So, there's something I-"

They blinked, caught off guard, then laughed softly together.

"You first.", Jungkook said, still smiling.

Chaeyoung hesitated, then nodded, her fingers tightening just a little around her cup. "Okay... I just- I wanted to pick up where we left off. That night."

Jungkook's brows lifted slightly, curiosity flickering in his eyes. "That night...You mean..."

She looked up at him, then gave a small nod. "Yeah. That night you confessed."
