The morning air was crisp with a gentle breeze, sunlight filtering softly through the trees as parents gathered near the school parking lot. Children laughed, teachers gave last-minute instructions, and the hum of excitement filled the air.
Chaeyoung and Jungkook stood side by side, watching as Haneul leaned out the school bus window to wave at them, her backpack barely fitting beside her.
"Bye, mommy! Bye, Uncle!", Haneul waved heartily.
"Have fun, sweetheart!", Chaeyoung called, waving with both hands. Jungkook smiled and gave her a small salute.
The bus engine roared to life, and slowly, the line of yellow buses pulled away from the lot. As the last one disappeared down the road, a peaceful silence settled over them.
Chaeyoung exhaled, a mix of nervousness and freedom fluttering in her chest. She glanced at Jungkook, who was already looking at her.
"We’re really doing this.", she said with a half-laugh.
"How do you feel?", he asked.
"A bit...nervous."
"Don't worry. I'm with you.", he said, taking her hand in his.
A few parents still lingered, but neither of them cared anymore. They stood close, just enough that if anyone noticed, they would know that the two of them were really in love despite all that was thrown at her online.
Jungkook turned to her fully, "So…Chaeyoung. Are you ready for our date?"
Chaeyoung raised a brow and smiled. “I am. Where are we going?"
He smirked, "That’s a secret."
"Secret? Hmm...okay. Surprise me, then.", she said excitedly, already anticipating their first destination.
Jungkook squeezed her hand gently, "Let’s make the most of it."
They walked toward his car, both were smiling to have a beautiful journey ahead.

The drive out of the city was quiet, peaceful, and filled with a gentle kind of anticipation. Trees lined the road as the suburbs gave way to wide, open spaces. Chaeyoung kept sneaking glances at Jungkook, trying to guess where they were headed, but he gave nothing away. He just grinned like a man very proud of himself.
Eventually, they turned onto a gravel path that led to a rustic ranch surrounded by white fences and rolling green hills. A few horses grazed lazily in a nearby paddock, their coats gleaming in the morning light.
Jungkook pulled into a parking spot and turned off the engine, "We’re here."
Chaeyoung looked around, eyes widening. "Are we going...horse riding?"
"Yup.", he said, already getting out.
She blinked, stunned. "Okay, wait. How did you know I’ve always wanted to try this?"
Jungkook came around to open her door with a smug grin, "I have my ways."
She narrowed her eyes playfully as she stepped out. "Don't say you asked Lisa."
"I didn't.", he said, holding up a hand in surrender.
Chaeyoung tilted her head, "Then, how...I never told anyone, even Lisa."
"I might’ve reached out to your family.", he said.
Her eyes widened, "You did not."
He gave her a mischievous look, "I reached out to your sister."
