Natasha stood in front of the Stark tower, looking up at the large A positioned at the top. She sighed and looked back down, her eyes focusing on the door which was merely meters in front of her.
Millions of thoughts were whirling around in her head. Would they except her? Did they miss her? Did they even want her back at all? Her heart began thumping in her chest as she slowly made her way to the door, pushing it open slowly.
Natasha slipped her hood over her head, concealing her face so the Avengers wouldn't recognize her at first. She trailed up to the front desk, where a very pretty lady was sitting.
"How may I help you?" Her perky voice made Natasha want to cringe.
"I'm here to see Mr Stark, on highly important business." The lady nodded and picked up a phone to her right, dialing a few numbers before placing it to her ear.
"Hello Mr Stark? There is someone down here to see you.... Highly important business..... Alright, I'll send them up." She placed the phone down and gestured to the elevator which stood to the left.
"Mr Stark is in a meeting with the Avengers right now, on the 70th floor, I would suggest waiting until he is finished before meeting with him." Natasha nodded but had no intention of doing such a thing.
She walked to the elevator and pushed number 70. The door closed and Natasha let her eyes slip shut. She remembered what life had been like before the mission, when she had been given the mission, and the heartbroken looks on everyone's faces when she told them she was leaving, and might not come back.
FLASHBACK
"Is this a mission sir?"
"Yes, but I don't think you'll like it."
"I find that quite hard to believe."
"Well you better believe it."

"I'm leaving."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm leaving and I don't when- if I'm coming back."
END OF FLASHBACK
Natasha was jolted from her memories when she heard a voice.
"Ms Romanoff?" She smiled at the sound of F.R.I.D.A.Y's slick robotic voice.
"F.R.I.D.A.Y; so lovely to see you- hear you. Could you not tell Tony I'm coming, I want it to be a surprise."
"Of course Ms Romanoff."

Tony shook his head as the Avengers argued on. Everyone was here. The old Avengers; Clint, Thor, Bruce, Steve and himself, along with the twins and Sam and Phil and Maria. Right now they were arguing over something (Tony didn't know what), and it was kind of annoying him.
Suddenly, a loud ding sounded; the elevator. Everyone ceased fighting and turned to see the new arrival. A hooded man stepped from the elevator and made his way towards the group.
Coulson and Maria grinned and went to say hello while everyone else stood awkwardly, unfamiliar with the new arrival.
Natasha greeted Maria and Phil with a hug and a huge grin. It felt so good to be back.
"Going to introduce us Agent?" Asked Tony, taking a step towards Natasha.
"I don't need to." Smiled Phil, "she already knows all of your names." Natasha looked over the shocked bunch and her eyes fell on Pietro. Didn't he die?
"Okay now I'm really confused." Her voice came out different. Two years of voice training came in handy sometimes. She pointed at Pietro. "Didn't you die?" Pietro's mouth opened and closed, how did this mysterious woman know him?
"Alright, so you know all names, but we don't know yours, if you'd be so kind?" Natasha froze and looked over at Maria and Phil. They nodded slightly and she sighed.
"Alright then." Natasha swallowed and lifted her hands to her head, lifting her hood carefully off.
Everyone's eyes slowly widened and mouths began to drop. There was complete silence as Natasha stood awkwardly in front of them, wondering if this was a good idea.
Clint was the first to speak.
"Nat?" He whispered, taking a small step towards his best friend.
"Hi." She whispered, looking down at her feet. A huge grin began to form on Clint's face and he took three large steps forwards her before engulfing Natasha in a huge hug. She instantly wrapped her arms around his neck and began smiling.
"I missed you so much." He said quietly, stepping back a bit and turning back to face the group. One by one, everyone came and said their greetings, until the only one left was Steve.
He had stood stock still the while time just staring at Natasha in wonder. Everyone took a few steps back to give the two of them some space.
"Hey Steve." Natasha took a few steps towards Steve, her heart beating out of her chest. "Look I'm really sorry for leaving, but I didn't have much of a choice." Steve was silent, staring at Natasha with a blank look on his face.
"How long are you staying for." He asked bluntly, making Natasha wince.
"Hopefully I won't be leaving again." She answered quietly, tears forming in her eyes. He didn't want her here. Steve, the man her entire life revolved around didn't want her. Steve took a step towards her, and kept going until they were barely inches apart.
Natasha was still looking at the ground so Steve placed a hand under her chin and lifted it up, while wrapping another arm around her waist.
"Good." He said confidently, "that means I can finally marry you." Natasha's jaw dropped to the floor in absolute amazement while Steve just grinned innocently. He then pulled her close and gently placed a kiss on her lips.
"I love you." He whispered, pressing his forehead to hers. She just smiled and buried her head in Steve's chest.
"It feels so good to be back home."
