--- Addy's POV ---
I wandered around the mall looking for an outfit to wear for May's wedding, it was one week away and I still hadn't got round to doing it. I wanted to take Lucas with me but he was working as were all my girl friends so I was left alone to face the task of picking something. I could put together an outfit decent enough that I didn't look homeless but when it came to important events I was hopeless. In high school I'd always taken someone with me when I needed to choose something to wear in fact Alex had actually chosen my complete outfit for Halloween when we were seventeen.
Luckily I wasn't on a tight budget so I didn't have to worry as I found myself in one of the mall's more expensive shops. Seen as it was a June wedding I decided I wanted something thin and floaty so I wouldn't overheat and start sweating which would be extremely unattractive, embarrassing and kind of anti social. Then I spotted a navy blue floral patterned dress that was the kind of thing I would wear it was quite short but not inappropriately so for a wedding, it was perfect. I found a coral pink belt, matching heels and a necklace to accessorise it and it was complete. Sighing in relief that I was finished I payed for my clothes and went home.
A couple of hours later I was dressing myself up for an evening out. Sarah had met a guy and wanted me to bring Lucas and go on a double date with her because she was nervous so obviously I accepted, it was better than staying at home on my own again.
'You look beautiful tonight' Lucas opened my door for me
'Thank you' I smiled and got in
'So remind me why we're doing this again' he said as he started the car
'Sarah's really nervous about this guy so I said I'd help her' I explained
'By sitting in on their date?' he frowned
'It's a double date' I rolled my eyes 'That's why you're here'
'We could have gone out to dinner by ourselves though' he argued
'You just don't understand female friendships' I sighed
'I don't think any man does' he mumbled
We got to the restaurant and went inside, the waiter took our names and then escorted us to the table where Sarah was already sitting with her date. She smiled nervously at me as I sat down beside her and Lucas sat opposite me.
'This is Andy' she introduced me
'Hey it's nice to meet you' Andy grinned at me 'You must be Adeline'
'Yeah I am and you too' I smiled 'This is my boyfriend Lucas'
'You live over at Parkside right?' Lucas pointed at Andy
'Yeah I do' he nodded 'Do you live close by?'
'Yep I'm in one of the houses there I work nearby' Lucas grinned enthusiatically
The two men chatted happily so I took my chance to talk to Sarah.
'He's hot' I whispered
'I know right' she whispered back 'He's super sweet as well'
'Hey don't be so nervous' I grabbed her shaking hand 'You look gorgeous'
'Thanks' she squeezed my hand
The evening went really well and by the end of it Sarah and Andy were staring into each others eyes while they shared a sundae. I laughed at the couple and caught Lucas' eye.
'Shall we go?' I mouthed
He nodded and we both stood up to excuse ourselves.
'Well it's been amazing to meet you Andy' I interrupted them
