--- Addy's POV ---

I felt myself being shaken awake and sat bolt upright in bed, my shirt was stuck to my body with sweat and I was breathing heavily. Realising I'd been woken from a nightmare I wiped my eyes and turned to the person who was sitting on the edge of my bed to find it was Jack.

'Are you okay?' he asked

'Yeah it was just a nightmare' I tried to steady my breathing

'It looked like a pretty bad nightmare' he frowned

'I used to get them all the time when I was younger' I said 'I guess being back here just triggered a few memories'

'Do you want to talk about it?' he smoothed my damp hair back from my forehead

'No it's okay it's just stupid' I shook my head 'You should get back to bed I'm sorry for waking you'

'If you're sure' he looked dubious 'You can always talk to me'

'I know' I smiled 'Thanks'

'Come here' he opened his arms

I leaned my body into his and rested my head on his shoulder, he squeezed me tightly and kissed the side of my head.

'Sleep well' he whispered

'You too' I said

He left my room, shutting the door behind him, and I lay back on my pillows closing my eyes as I thought back over the nightmare.

It was the same one I used to have when I was younger, I was watching as my parents died in the car crash but I couldn't stop them no matter how loudly I'd shout about the truck heading their way, then I'd turn and Alex was there and I'd try to run to him but Lucas was holding me back despite my struggling against him. The last part was a new addition and I had no idea what it meant, I didn't know why I was trying to get away from Lucas.

I sighed and shook my head trying to get the dream out of my head. I knew there was no way I was going to get back to sleep so I got out of bed. I ran a hand through my hair and pulled at my shirt which was damp with sweat but I couldn't be bothered to change out of it. The clock read 3am so I assumed everyone else would be in bed, I turned out my bedroom light and went downstairs to the kitchen.

All the lights were off downstairs but it was a clear night so the moon shone through the windows and provided some light. I went into the kitchen and squinted as I switched on the light, I was shielding my eyes as I went to get a bottle of water out the fridge and then sat down at the kitchen island. My eyes finally adjusted to the bright lights so I moved my hand and took a drink from my bottle. As I moved my hand, I saw someone sitting beside me out of the corner of my eye and quickly swallowed my water before squealing in surprise. Alex was sitting right next to me wearing nothing but a pair of batman boxers identical to my own which, when I looked down, I realised were barely covered by my shirt.

'Hey?' his words came out like a question

'Hi' I choked out

I felt my palms get sweaty and my heart was beating twice as fast as usual, it was weird but I suddenly felt nervous around Alex. I chose to rip away at the label on my water bottle instead of looking at him.

'Couldn't sleep?' he spoke finally after what felt like years of silence

'Just bad dreams' I shrugged

'Do you still get those?' he asked

'No I saw a doctor in LA about them but I guess being back here triggered my memory' I sighed

'Was it the same one?' I could feel him watching me but I couldn't tear my eyes away from my bottle

'It was a little different' I said 'But basically the same'
