I Could Never Forget Us

Chapter 16

--- Addy's POV ---

I decided to make dinner for everyone that night and Rian kept me company in the kitchen while the other three played on the Xbox in the lounge.

'Do you want to help cut these carrots up?' I placed half a bag of carrots in front of him

'Sure' he nodded

I handed him a knife and sat down beside him at the island with another knife to cut up the other half.

'We haven't had a chance to have a proper catch up since I got here' I said

'I know it sucks' he agreed

'Well tell me what's been going on the world of Rian for the last five years' I laughed

'Well I've lost a lot of weight' he grinned 'And I've shaved my head'

'Yeah I can tell' I looked at him 'You look hot'

'Sorry I'm taken' he winked

'Same' I shrugged 'So what happened with you and Kara?'

'We stayed together for about a year after high school but then we were just touring so much that I never saw her' he explained 'I guess it was mutual and it was for the best'

'I'm sorry' I apologised

'It's fine' he shook his head 'Then I met Cass a year and half ago and we're going pretty well at the minute'

'She's lovely' I agreed 'Way nicer than Kara'

'You two never did get on' he chuckled 'Remember that New Year's party?'

'Yeah' I remembered it 'She was so pissed at me and Alex just for being drunk'

'And horny' he added

'Shut up' I elbowed him

We'd finished cutting up the carrots so I collected them all into a large pan with noodles and other vegetables and fried them all together. It only took about ten minutes and then I served it into five bowls. Alex, Jack and Zack came wandering in having obviously smelt the food and sat down to eat. As we ate Rian continued our conversation and the other's listened.

'And how about you Addy?' he asked 'What've you been up to all these years?'

'Well I hated every minute of College but managed to get through it and get my Biology degree' I said 'But I ended up working in a coffee shop'

'Why?' Jack frowned

'I didn't want to go into a lab job or teaching or anything so I just took the first job I could find' I shrugged

'You should've just called me and you could've come back to us' he said

'Yeah I thought I'd just you guys do your thing and I'd do mine' I smiled 'It's not too bad I mean I met Lucas through the shop'

'And look at the great guy he turned out to be' Zack teased me

'He can be sweet' I rolled my eyes 'You just never saw it'

'Whatever' Rian laughed

'So how was your double date?' I turned my attention to Jack and Zack

'It was awesome' Zack smiled 

'Yeah we saw the new Transformers movie' Jack chimed in

'And the girls were happy with that?' Alex asked

'Seemed to be' Zack shrugged

'And how was your day after you stormed out?' Jack smirked

'Fine' Alex nodded 'I'm never taking Kelsey shopping again though'
