Ch.13 Mik's POV
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You know that feeling of dread you get right before something big happens? Well I get that feeling everyday before I go home. On the bus I sit and listen to my music, Cassy has volleyball practice after school, but even when she rides she just lets me listen to my music. My music is the way I get my head into the game you could say. When I get home the dishes need to be done, I now have 15 extra minutes after they home to do the dishes because of school and bus reasons.
"Mik, can you set up my game please?" I heard Jake ask when we got off the bus.
"Sure thing, Boo." I call him Boo because its short for OhBoo. And I don't know why I call him OhBoo. My house is pretty big. To get to it we have to walk up a set of very shity stairs that I fall down at least once every winter. When you open the door you walk into a very small entry way that gets very cold in the winter so we usually keep the door with glass in it closed. When you open the 'glass door' as I've always called it you walk into the living room if you turn left you see a fireplace, the couch and against the farthest wall is the tv and stuff. If you look straight ahead you see the dinning room, it's connected to the living room. If you keep walking pass the table and turn right there's a hallway with mom and Jerry's room on the farthest end a bathroom in the middle then a closet with a laundry shoot to the basement, and then the room at the beginning of the hallway is the office. In the dinning room right next to the entrance to the hallway is a door that leads up stairs. Upstairs there is Jakes room and his play room along with a bathroom for him. Back in the dinning room if you go through the other door way closest to the patio door you are in the kitchen and if you walk all the way through and turn right there's a little room type area that has the stairs to go down stairs after you walk down the stairs you see the washing machine and drier along with the water heater and mostly open space. If you walk pass that stuff and turn right agin you come to more open space and then to a door, my room is beyond that door.
"Hey, you said you'd turn on my game!" I heard Jake almost shout, pulling me out of my thoughts.
"Yeah yeah, give me a second." Was all I said while I walked upstairs to his playroom and set up his wii. That's right a seven year old has a wii, along with a play station and the Nintendo game councils we have. He is a spoiled little brat but I still love him. He knows nothing about the stuff that happens in the basement. The worst part about the basement is that's where Jerry and his friends hang out when they come over.
After I turn his game on I go down and put my shoes, sweat shirt and backpack in my room, start the washer and drier then go up stairs and start the dishes. Right when I start the water mom and Jerry walk in, home from work.
"Where's Jake?" I hear one of them ask from behind me.
"He is upstairs playing his game, and he doesn't have homework tonight, I went through his bag on the bus." I told both of them, I said the last part to my mother.
"You're on supper tonight Mik." My mom started then added, "I'm gonna go lay down cus I had a long freakin day."
I had the dishes done in ten minutes, it was hard to concentrate though because Jerry was standing behind me watching the clock like a hawk. After I did the dishes I headed down stairs to, well get way from Jerry.
"I'm having friends over tonight, so you better be good." I heard Jerry say harshly behind me. I couldn't help but sigh knowing this would be a long day then I turned to Jerry and say, "Remember to tell them not to hit me in the face agin, because I don't want any bruises on my face where people can see them." He nodded and let me go down stairs.
I felt like crying but I knew that it would do me no good. When I got pass the washer I turned left and grabbed my smokes from by the patio door and walked outside and sat on my chair to smoke. I decided to do burgers and fries for supper tonight. I put my butt in the can and went inside and upstairs to start supper, Jerry liked to eat early.
I washed my hands and got the little George Forman grill out and turned the deep fryer on so I could fry the fries. I got everything out and went to work. Dinner was started and everything was going good, on days when I'm in charge of the food it helps me unwind.
After I got the first few hamburgers done I heard the door open, I looked into the living and called out to Jerry's friends, "He's down stairs." I didn't pay them any mind as they walked pass me to get to there hangout. I was glad I had put my smokes into my pocket because I knew they would steal them.
Super was made, I fixed Jake a plate and got him so he could eat. While he was sitting at the table. I went to ask mom if she was hungry and tell here Jerry's friends were here. She was awake for a few minutes but decided to go to bed. So I mad her a plate and put it in the microwave.
I ate a burger and a few fries while Jake finished up then is sent him up to play his game before I went and got the boys. I knew they would be doing inappropriate things so I wanted Jake to be away from that.
"Supers done!" I yelled down to them.
"Bout time you little bitch, you know I don't like to wait." Jerry said as he walked pass.
I felt all three of his friends touch me in one way or anther. Damn this was gonna be a long night and I still had stuff todo.
