Ch.17

Ch.17 Mik's POV

Of course with my life how it is, I got anther curve ball thrown at me. I know what you're thinking, her childhood bestfriend, her father both she hasn't seen in 11 years and her angry abusive step father how could it get worse?

"Mik, you might wanna hurry you're gonna be late for first hour." I heard 'his' voice say. That's right! Mr. Faust decided to join this party! So we have the guy I think I might love but I also loath him at the same time who kind of knows about the abuse that the next guy my stepfather Jerry started, so two of the people know some of what's going on but then we have my overly sweet childhood best friend and my biological father both of whom know nothing of the pain I go through at home. And of course I'm literally caught in the middle.

"Um, I think I might have to miss school today." I say pointing over his shoulder at a pissed off looking Jerry . Faust glanced over his shoulder wondering what could possibly have me looking so shocked, he nodded a little.

"I see what you mean, he looks angry." Faust commented right before Jerry reached us.

"Mik, you need to get your stuff, Jake got sick and you're going home with him." There was no room for argument in his voice, it was so harsh that I cringed a little.

"Ok, give me bout two minutes." I said and continued towards my locker. I saw Dean wave at me and I couldn't help but smile, I heard Jerry fallowing close behind me.

"Hey girly, what's up?" Dean asked me.

"I gotta go home and take care of my little bro Jake, I guess he's sick." I said simply. I saw John , my father stiffen a little at my voice, he turned and looked at me.

"Miky? Is it really you." I closed my eyes and nodded I felt him wrap me in a warm hug that I have missed all this time, he touched my right side and I couldn't help the painful breath I sucked in. Before I knew what was happening I was ripped from my dads warm and loving embrace.

"Don't touch her!" I heard Jerry start to yell. "You have no right to be here, you had your chance but you lost them! They are mine now!" I felt the tears streaming down my face, Jerry's hand was still wrapped around my arm. I knew that was going to leave a bruise.

"I have every right to be here! You literally stole my family from me!" I heard my dad yell back. "Let her go! Can't you see you're hurting her arm." Mr. Faust said in a calm voice. Jerry looked at his hand and let my arm go.

I didn't look at anyone as I opened my locker and grabbed my bag and stuff. But you could cut the tension in the are with a metaphorical knife. I keep my head down as I walk towards the door.

"Why didn't you tell me he was here?!?" I heard Jerry whisper yell at me.

"I honestly didn't know, how would I know I haven't talked to him in 11 years!" I say back and regret it because he will think that I'm talking back. "I thought you said jake was sick? Where is he?"I see him smirk as he starts driving home. "I lied, I got pissed at work and I knew if I came and got you I'd get to have some fun, so you, me and all my toys all day today." I felt sick agin. Even with my dad and Mr. Faust in the same town I knew no one was going to same me...

Damian's POV

I got to school and I was walking down the hallway. I saw some guy with his hand on her shoulder. She turns to us and I see tears in her eyes.

"What's going on here?" I demand at the boy holding her shoulder.

"Just having a conversation that brings up, well I guess bad memories for Mik."

We both ask Mik at the same time, "Are you okay?" She laughs and nodes then adds, "I will be anyway." I'm not convinced and I can tell this kid isn't ether. But she shrugs him off and continues to her locker. They have a small conversation and Mik grades a bag from her locker then goes to the bathroom right down the hall from her locker.

A tall man walks pass me and goes over to the new boy and starts talking to him. I walk around the corner to the office when I walked back through the hallway Mik is standing by the bathroom looking stunned. Then she looks down the hallway and her eyes widen.

"Mik you might wanna hurry you're gonna be late for first hour." I say with a small smirk.

"Um, I think I might have to miss school today." She says pointing over my shoulder looking scared. I nodded.

"Mik, you need to get your stuff, Jake got sick and you're going home with him." I saw her cringe at his tone of voice.

"Ok, give me two minutes." She says and goes to her locker with Jerry close on her heals.

I saw the man talking to the boy turn towards Mik and before I knew what was happening he was hugging her, them Jerry was literally ripping her out of his arms.

They started yelling at each other. I saw that he still had her arm tightly wrapped in his fist so I said in my calmest voice, even though I wanted to murder him for the pain he was causing her, "Let her go! Can't you see you're hurting her arm."

He let her go and she got her stuff and walked towards the door. After a few more seconds of the stare down Jerry turned and fallowed her. I honestly wondered in that moment if I'd ever see that girl agin.

"Ok, not trying to nosey but I think I need an explanation." I turned towards the man and the boy.

"We'll talk about this at my place if you can get outta school." The man said.

"Ok, I gotta go and let them know they need a sub for the rest of the day." I say and start walking to the office.

I might actually learn her story today....
