Meg and I walk around Factionless, when we hear a conversation between Edward and Evelyn.
"Interesting plan, Evelyn. But who's going to help us achieve that goal of eradicating the faction system?," Edward asks.
I wait for an answer, crouching low with Meg.
"Ms. Matthews," Evelyn said. My heart starts beating rapidly. Me.
I involuntarily kick the wall as I shudder.
"What was that?," Edward asks. He gets up to open the door.
"Go," I whisper to Meg.
"I'm not leaving you," she whispers to me.
I get up and go towards Edward. "It's me you're looking for."
Edward pulls me roughly inside Evelyn's office. "Eavesdropping?," Edward asks.
I nod and Evelyn approaches me with a syringe. "Welcome to Factionless."
She pushes the plunger down and I'm no longer myself.
