I see the train pull up in front of Factionless and Sarah comes out, hands clenched. What is she doing here and why is she frustrated? Surely it has nothing to do with me.

She hugs me close and I hug her back.

"What's wrong, Sarah?" I asked.

"It's this new initiate. She's from Erudite. I talked to her before I came her and she seems to know a lot about me. I think she is something along the lines of Jeanine."

I flinched back at the name Jeanine. "You know how I feel about her and the sound of her name." I glare.

Sarah gives an apologetic expression. "I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking."

"It's already," I said. "So who's this former Erudite bitch that's been giving you trouble?"

"I doubt she's anything but former," Sarah said, then a hint of a smile crosses her face. "But you were right with calling her a bitch."

I laugh. "What's her name?"

"Her name is Lyra Hale," Sarah answered.

"That name doesn't sound familiar, not even while I was held captive in Erudite." I furrowed my brow. "She's sixteen?"

"Yes," Sarah answered, looking confused. "Why? Are you thinking she was there when you were taken?"

"Yes," I answered.

"There's one way to find out," Sarah pointed out. "Do you think Edgar and Edward can keep an eye on Factionless while you're away?"

"Yes," I said.
