"Where did you tell Sheva you were going to be today?"

Chris stayed quiet as he looked down at his joined hands. Here he was thinking that he had gotten away with his lie.

"You can just tell me because I already know." Clara told him as she crossed her arms and leaned back on the couch with a sigh.

"Grandma's..." Chris admitted quietly.

"And you were where?"

"Jill's party." Chris sighed then asked, "Mom, what are you trying to get to?" He honestly didn't want to know because he had a feeling deep down in his gut that was telling him that he was in a lot of trouble.

"Sheva called you today and you didn't answer, so she called me. She just wanted me to tell you that you let your watch with her and that you could come and get it... after you left your Grandma's." She paused and watched as Chris angrily ran a hand through his hair and stand up to pace around then continued to talk.

"I had to break the news to her that you were at Jill's party and she was pretty upset. She told me that you lied to her, her voice was cracking and I could tell she was trying not to cry. I told her that you must have had a good reason to lie so that might have made her feel a little better but I'm not sure." Clara finished with a shrug.

"I didn't mean to make her cry, mom. She wasn't supposed to know! I just went to drop off a present and leave because Jill asked me to go and I didn't know how to say no! Ugh! She probably hates me now!" Chris said as he paced around, angry at himself. "I need to go talk to her." He announced as he grabbed his keys again and headed for the front door. He needed to make things right, he couldn't even bear the thought that he made Sheva cry.

"No you are not going anywhere." Clara told him as she stood up and grabbed his arm. Chris looked at her like she was crazy and continued to walk to the door.

"Mom, please let go. I need to go talk to her right now." Chris begged. She let go of his arm and stood in front of the door.

"Chris you can't just go to their house and make her talk to you. She probably doesn't even want to see you right now. Call her first and tell her that you want to talk and if she says no or doesn't answer then give her some time, alright?"

"But mom, we NEED to talk! There is no time, the dance is tomorrow and I wanted us to have a great time but we can't if she's ignoring me and not wanting to look at me!" Chris told her as he began to pace around again and get worried.

"Call her Chris." Was all Clara said and she moved away from the door and headed to the kitchen. Chris sighed and quickly pulled his phone out of his pocket. He tried to unlock it but kept on messing up the pass code due to his nervousness and shaking. He took a few deep breaths and tried again. The phone clicked and unlocked then Chris quickly found her name in his contacts and clicked on it to call her. He pressed the phone to his ear and waited. It rang three times and then went to voicemail. She declined his call. He tried over and over and over but she declined each and every one of them.

"Chris?" Claire called him from the top of the stairs. Chris came to the bottom of the staircase and looked up at Claire.

"Yeah?" He answered weakly.

"Sheva wanted me to tell you to stop calling her." Claire told him and watched as his expression saddened. "Did something happen?" She asked sympathetically. Yeah, sometimes she hated her brother but she never saw him this sad and upset since their dad got arrested. Chris went up the stairs and shook his head.

"I did something really stupid and upset her. I'm trying to fix it but she won't talk to me." Chris told his sister sadly when he reached her. Then he got an idea.
