Taylor's pov
I peeked my eyes open to study the heart monitor that is showcasing my heart. I exhale, loving the feeling of serenity at the peaceful moment as I turn my head to get Sarah. I'm shocked when I find no other bed in the spacious room and immediately reach for the large hospital remote so I can request a nurse.
A young nurse walks in carrying a clipboard in one hand as she saunters over to the bed. She looks up when she finally reaches the post and stares at me with amazement. I eye her, wondering what her problem is until I downcast my eyes and notice the long blue tube blowing oxygen into my mouth.
"Y-you were on life support." She gasps, her words jumbled as she removed the stethoscope from around her neck, feeling my heartbeat as I stared at nothing in particular with wide eyes. "Y-your heart beat d-doesn't match the monitor." She hums in curiosity, bringing the small circular pad of the stethoscope to my heart whilst she watches the heart monitor.
"What are you doing?!" Asks a new nurse as she walks into the room with her own clipboard, her Raven colored hair brought up in a tight bun on her head. The women on my chest jumps in fright as she retracts her hand, looking at her co-worker skeptically.
"Who are you?" She demanded as the raven haired girl continues to strut to the opposite side of the bed. "I've never seen you before."
"I'm new." The dark haired beauty deadpanned, looking at the other nurse with annoyance. "I was assigned to this patient."
"No you weren't, I was." My previous nurse declared. "I will call the doctor if you don't leave." she challenges while the opposing nurse raises her eyebrow questionably.
"Fine." The nurse caved, turning to me and giving me the look as she made her way out the door, still giving me that stare before the door shut completely.
"I apologise." My previous, and now only, nurse chuckled, her own bun of hair made of golden locks. I smile weakly as I watch her replace the stethoscope back around her neck.
"It's okay," I insure her and she writes a few things on her metallic board. "But do you happen to know where Sarah is?" I ask her hopefully, wanting Sara to be alright for at least right now.
"I'm not sure, honey." She frowns whilst tapping her chin in thought, "what did she look like?" She wonders.
"Erm...well, she's white." I tell her before emphasising further, "but she still has pretty tan skin." I acknowledge, watching as the petite nurse nods in understanding. "She has blonde hair and it goes past her shoulder, also she has green eyes." I finish, not knowing what other basic details to say.
"Oh, the other women in the crash?" She asks in curiosity.
"I guess so." I shrug as I wait for her response.
"She was here," she tells me, the was catching me off guard, "that nurse that just came in was the one assigned to her." She tells me and I nod, following along. "But the nurse said the dad had checked her out."
"Her dad?" I asked worried, my nerves rising at the chances. "What did he look like."
"Oh I don't know sweetie, only that nurse and few others saw him." She shrugs, smiling sadly at her lack of ability to give me details.
"There's a chance it could be our kidnapper." I tell her, watching as she skeptically looks at me.
"Honey, you did hit your head." She reasons, but I shake my head no.
"We've been kidnapped." I promise, watching as her eyes widened before she picked up the phone with shaky hands and dialed the local police station.
"Um yes, I need to report a kidnapping." She rushes, her voice panicked as she speaks. "Her name is Sarah, s-a-r-a-h, and she has long blonde hair, green eyes, and she's white, but her skin is tan." She says quickly, freaking out more that me as she talks to the dispatcher.
"Okay," pause. "Okay," pause. "thank you." She says before hanging up the phone and tuning to look at me, her face pale. She basically floats a her body wisps into the extra chair in the room that is positioned by the wall.
"Well?" I question, causing her to let out a shaky breath as she stares at me.
"They said they will try as hard as they can, but they don't have any leads in the area so its very unlikely. But they're going to try their hardest." She promises as I nod solemnly.
"C-can I go?" I ask, needing to find Taylor to make sure it was her dad that came to get her.
"It's not recommend, but I can't find anything wrong with you." She huffs exasperated, almost like she can't believe it. "So yes, just make sure you check out." She tells me to which I nod, leaving the room and follow the signs that direct towards the front desk.
"I need to sign out." I tell the lady once I reach the desk, watching as she pulls out a large binder full of logs. She places the book on top of the desk with a pin and I quickly sign my name, using my mom's maiden name as I do so. Once I finish I set the pen down and the women retracts the book, placing it somewhere below my vision.
"Do you have a lost and found?" I ask her, my left hand still holding the sides of the open hospital gown as I speak.
"Yes, Jessica can escort you." She tells me before she stands from her chair and walks to the back office area where I can no longer see her.
She comes back quickly with another woman following suit, her curvy figure only accentuated by the tight high-waisted black colored pencil skirt adoring her legs and lilac flowy long sleeve shirt tucked in at the waist.
"Ready?" She wonders, her short curly hair falling to her shoulders in gorgeous ringlets due to her ethnic background. I nod in confirmation as she makes her way out from behind the desk, her pointed black heels clicking with each step. She begins to lead the way, looking at me from the corner of her eye. "I'm Jessica."
"Taylor." I greet as I pace myself beside her, her steps in sync. "So you work here?" I ask her and she shakes her head, her voluminous hair bouncing at the motion.
"No, I'm interning." She tells me as she directs us to go to the left, "my mom's the lady at the front desk." She reveals and I hum in fascination. "Here we are." She points to the gray door with a plack reading lost & found.
She uses the keys I hadn't noticed were in her hands to unlock the door , before holding the barrier open so I can step through.
"So did you lose something?" She asks, letting the door shut behind her as she steps through.
"Truthfully, no." I tell her, hoping she'll still let me look through the large quantity of clothing. "I just really need some clothes." I half smile, directing to the open back hospital gown adoring my body.
"We'll go ahead." She smiles, allowing my actions as he sits in on of the chairs displayed in the room.
"People seriously leave this stuff?" I ask shocked as I look at the tags and so the different name brand labels.
"You'd be surprised." She nods agreeably, her eyes scanning the racks and racks of clothes. "It's organized by garments by the way, not size." She informs and I nod understandingly.
I find packs of never before opened undergarments and raise my eyebrows at Jessica in curiosity in which she repeated, "you'd be surprised." Before looking through the racks herself. I put on the fresh underclothed, before pulling a pair of sport legging over my legs and a short over my shoulders. I even found clean socks, which surprised me, before finding a pair of Nike running shoes in my size.
When I finish dressing I walk over to Jessica who is still flipping through hangers and studying the different clothing choices. She smiles when I approach her, her hand pointing the hanger she was holding back onto the rack, before eyeing me and raising her brow in curiosity.
"Do you have a car?"
