Sarah's pov

I had looked a Jessica questionably, unsure what their brief eye contact had meant. Jessica smiled kindly before her and her mother walked away and into the room behind the desk. I depart my attention away from the back room and focus on Taylor, watching as she places the phone back into the holder.

"My mom is coming." She awkwardly says, twiddling her thumbs together. I smile, happy that she's going to be safe even though she's not my biggest fan.

"Did you tell her what happened?" I asked her, studying her pained expression.

"No." She answered, shaking her head. "I don't know how."

I didn't get a chance to respond before Jessica and her mother sauntered back into the lobby. Her mom set back down at her desk, though her and Jessica still had shared knowing looks.
"Are you going to call someone?" Taylor had asked, trying her best to be friendly. I shook my head somberly, sniffling as tears ran to my eyes when the fear had settled.

"I don't have anyone to call." I told her, watching as her somewhat pitiful smile turned down into a frown.

"You should still call." She suggested and I nodded, not seeing the harm in calling my mother and telling her about what had happened.

I had quarked an eyebrow at Jessica, noticing how she seemed to be standing guard over the phone. Realising my actions, she looked back at her mom for confirmation. When her mom had nodded, Jessica stepped out of the way and closer to her mother. The two had begun to whisper, but I paid no mind to their conversation as I dialed my mom's number.

I had held my breath while the robotic ringing rattled the phone in my hand. The phone rang once, then twice then four more times before going straight to her voicemail box. I talked into the recording machine until the monotone beep cut me off.

"She didn't answer," I told the three after I had placed the phone back I to the holder. Taylor had raised her eyebrows in confusion. "Her answer machine." I had told her.

I looked down at my shoes when Taylor had thrown her arm around my shoulders, pulling me into her so she could properly hug me. I smiled at her attempt to cheer me up.

We had sat in the empty waiting room for what felt like ages. The uncomfortable chair was causing my back to ache, but I would take that over captivity any day. I was startled when a beautiful Latina rushed through the doors, her voice loud as she flailed around look for something.
Her chocolate eyes spotted Taylor in the seat beside me and she ran in our direction. I was sure she was Taylor's mom, but her worry for Tylor without even knowing what was wrong was a bit alarming.

"Baby, oh my God." The women gasped, crouching down to Taylor's sitting height. She reached up he hand to smooth down Taylor's hair and studied her cuts and bruises from the accident, I had already forgotten about those.

Taylor elapsed her mother into a tight embrace, snuggling her face into the crook of her neck. She had begun to cry, which had surprised me since she didn't seem like the type to show emotion.

"Oh, mija." Tay's mom cooed, "you had me worried sick." She says once she pulled away from the hug. Her eyes fell upon me and she looked at Taylor, patiently awaiting answers.

"Mom, this is Sara." She first said. "Sara, this is my mom Jennifer."

"It's nice to meet you..." Jennifer had trailed off before focussing back onto her daughter. "Now what happened?" She demanded.

"We were kidnapped." I interrupted, knowing Taylor didn't want to have to tell her mom.

Jennifer's eyes had widened and she became very panicky, trying to get Taylor to quickly leave.

"Shouldn't we call the cops?" I interjected, stopping Jennifer from leaving just yet. Taylor looked at me, pleading me to not bring law enforcement into the matter. She had told me she was the only legal citizen in her family. "N-nevermind."

"Please be careful." Jennifer told me. Taylor nodded in agreement.

"Keep calling your mom." Taylor instructed and I nodded. I had hugged her tightly to my chest, happy she was getting away from this mess.

I nodded and said goodbye before her and her mother exited the hospital. I walked back over to the desk that the phone was still perched on and tried to call my mom once more. She didn't answer, so I ha settled back into one of the very uncomfortable chairs.

"Sara?" I had heard Jessica's mom speak, she was still sitting behind her desk. I perked up and turned to look at her so she would know I was paying attention.

"Jessica and I could give you a ride to the airport," she told me, her eyes connecting with Jess' momentarily. "We have some extra money you could use to buy a ticket home." She told me smiling. I had looked over at Jessica who was smiling largely and then back to her mom. The offer was beyond kind, but the tone of her voice had put me off.

"I-i couldn't ask that of you." I had stuttered, trying to think of a polite way to decline her offer. She smiled understandingly before raising from her chair.

"Would you like some water?" She had asked, eyeing over me carefully as if she could see how thirsty I was.

"There's better chairs back here too." Jessica laughed as her and her mom nodded for me to follow the two into the back room. I was pleasantly surprised by the small cushioned couches perched against the wall. I had closed my eyes relaxedly as I heard the movements of Jessica fixing me a cup of water.

I thanked her when she handed me one of the clear plastic cups in her hand. She leaned against the wall while she sipped slowly on her water, both her and her mother were staring intently upon me. I had taken a large sip, rather parched from the lack of liquids. I smacked my lips together when I swallowed the first gulp. The water, which should have been tasteless, having a light metallic flavor. I took a few more sips, smacking my lips together to try and pinpoint the taste.

"Good?" Jess had questioned politely, tilting her head to the side as she watched me consume the water. I shrugged, not sure if it is or not do to the metalic hue.

"I thought you said she would be out by now." She had suddenly huffed, annoyance clear in her smooth voice. I scrunched my nose in confusion, my brain feeling oddly cloudy as I tried to determine what they were talking about.

"Any minute now." Her mom had said, staring at me in amusement. I blinked dazedly, feeling sleepier each time my eyelids would close. "Any minute now."

I got bored, so I revised another chapter! Wahoo! But it is like three in the morning so in too tired to look for mistakes, forgive me. (I'll fix them later)
