Chapter Ten

Sarah's pov

I had noticed how easily Taylor was angered and couldn't help but find it a little...much. I got that my thoughts could be irrelevant and defiantly not important, but I just say whatever comes to mind. Jessica had kept her hand on my thigh as she drove us back to the hospital, her fingers tapping against the fabric of my pants.

Taylor continued to sulk in the backseat and I couldn't help but to feel bad for making her upset. Jessica seemed determined to get us somewhere safe and Taylor seemed determined to completely ignore me.

"Taylor." I had spoke up, trying to get her attention. She scoffed, but slightly looked at me from the corner of her eyes. "Taylor, I'm sorry for upsetting you. Asking questions is just a habit."

Her shoulders slumped before she turned away from the window to look at me. Her expression stayed stern and hard as she raised her eyebrows. Her caramel colored eyes narrowed whilst she examined my face, speculating if even my apology was fake.

"It's okay." She excepted once she was sure my apology was honest. "I was just upset because you seemed so worried about materialistic things. My mom and dad bust their buts to make sure my family gets by, I envy how great you have it."

"Taylor, I'm sorry." I repeated, truly unsure how to respond to her revelation.

"It's alright."

"Hey, Taylor." I probed, getting her attention once more.

"Yes, Sarah?" She had pondered, causing me to gulp in preparation.

"That man, o-our kidnapper, he's your father." I revealed and I had felt my heart brake as her face paled.

"What, how?" She questioned, her voice barely being above a whisper.

"Let me explain."
