13th Phase: Out of the Blue Disillusion
“God put us here, on this carnival ride. We close our eyes never knowing where it'll take us next.”

“Funny, you’re the last person I thought I’d see in this time of the night.” A smirk appears on my face.
“What are you doing here?” He glares at me through the dark as his shadow stands beneath him.
“I should be asking you the same question.” I amble towards him and set myself on a seat, sitting beside him.
“Hey, Hey!" He waves his arms frantically. "This is my personal space.” Louis scorns. I push Louis off the bench. He stumbles to the ground as I did, making him kneel on his knees.
“Oh, you mean the floor?” I kid as I arch a brow at him. A diminutive laugh erupts from my lips. Louis shrugs his shirt off and sits back beside me.
“Nice try, Carson.” Louis sneers as he blankly stares at the New York lights. “So, really. What brings you here?” He asks, his eyes still fixed at the horizon.
“I always go to some peaceful and quiet place whenever I can’t sleep." I speak. I avert my gaze to him. "You?”
“Same.” He responds meekly.
A few moments of stillness fills the freezing air encompassing us. We are just both staring blankly at the New York night sky, watching the lights flash into a blur as the time runs by.
“So tell me,” Louis blurts out. “Do you fancy Niall?”
I am taken aback by his question. He never asks me this kind of thing. Usually, he would insult me or call me names, but he never asked me personal questions before.
“Of course. I mean, we’re really good friends and-” Louis stops me from talking.
“I don't mean as acquaintances, Maggie.” He pauses as he take a second to breathe before continuing. "What I meant to ask is, do you have some special feelings for him?” He turns his face to me.
“No." My eyes are unstable, unable to look at Louis directly in the eyes. "I don’t know." I begin to falter. Nervousness comes rushing through my veins. "Maybe." I chew on my cheeks as my fingers fiddle through the cold. "No.” I stammer. I honeslty don’t know what to answer.
“Well, you better figure it out.” His eyes are fixed on mine.
“Why so?” I raise an eyebrow skeptically at him.
“Isn’t it obvious? Niall fancies you. And when I say he does, he really do." Louis snickers. "Are you really that of a dim, Carson?” he flicks a finger at my head.
“Ouch!” I cry. I give him a defiant stare. “I never thought of it that way.” I lower my head, my eyes travelling to the ground. The wind blows colder, making me shiver.
“Here,” Louis hands me his blanket. “Keep yourself warm.”
“Wow, Tomo being a gentleman. That’s new.” I scoff, mocking him.
