15th Phase: Unstolen Kiss
“One Hazelnut macchiato and a chicken sausage breakfast wrap for Maggie!”
I am in the middle of texting someone when the staff calls my attention for my food. I press the lock button of my phone, slides my phone into my right pocket, and bolts up at the double to get my order. I wave my hand to the crew. “I’m Maggie,” I hand out the receipt. The worker glances on the piece of paper and then to me. He put on his "I'm very happy to see you. thank you for your coming in." face and I smile back.
I always like people in coffee shops they always make your day; the way they smile at you as they hands out your order, the way they make you feel comfortable at their place, I find it very appealing. It’s utterly difficult to force on a smile when you don’t feel like doing it; when you’ve been carrying the whole world on your shoulders and yet, they managed to give you that beaming grin just to keep you happy. I admire their dedication, really. That is probably why I love staying in coffee shops. The place gives me this certain tranquillity I always want.
I place my food on my table. I take a sip from my hazelnut macchiato. I wipe the stray whipped cream on my lips when I snap myself, remembering I need to reply to the message I was reading a while ago. I slip my phone out from my pocket and slide the screen to unlock it.

Yes, ol’ sir. Just having my breakfast.

I quickly munch through my meal. I don’t want to be late, plus the fact that I might get round up as one of the crazed fans that’s been waiting for Niall’s arrival at the airport. I look at the time on my watch, 8:15 AM.
“Where’s Liz?” I mutter under my breath. She promise me that she would go with me today. I hope she doesn’t bail me out on this one. I shift my thoughts back to the food I am eating. I still have an hour and 45 minutes to go. As soon as it hits me, one hour and 45 minutes is a very short time. My phone rings incessantly as it vibrates on the table. I grasp my phone, glancing at the screen. It was Liz.
“Liz, where are you? It’s 8:15 already. You were supposed to meet me here by quarter to 8.” I grumble through the speaker.
“Maggie, I’m terribly sorry. I can’t make it.” Her voice sounds raspy.
“What? Why?” I ask, shifting the phone from my right ear to my left.
“I just woke up, hun. I can’t be there in 5 minutes. If you wait for me, you’ll be late and we’re both going to die because of some fangirls stampede. You don’t want to die that way, yeah?” Liz pauses. Oh howw much hatred I have for her now. She bailed on me twice already. “I swear I’ll make it up to you some other time. I’m terribly sorry.” She apologizes. I want to be mad- furious, even. But I couldn't. That's one off my problem as a person. I suck at showing my anger. I always tend to understand things and lay them off. I'm such a weak and vulnerable glass.
“Oh, okay. I guess I’ll be seeing him alone then.” My voice lowers from either disappointment or fear- or probably somewhere in between those two uncertain emotions. Whatever it is, I am most definitely feeling giddy about it or perhaps, celebrating it.
