The "Bud" tail is like a creature and if threaten or in danger Jack is making it pull a Yarnaby and bite your ass
Jack mostly added his tail as a way to defend himself just in case
And then you have these other two who are just their favorite animals because why not
They all desperately need a well meaning hug from someone they strongly trust, also known as themselves
Fun fact: Kevin, Jack, and Mathew are Woola's #1 haters. Why? First, Wool used to work in Playtime and was the one that moved Kevin for "testing".. second, she used to be one of Safe Haven's protectors but then betrayed them as she was the one that attacked Pianosaures, who also was one of Safe Haven's Protectors. Third, straight up pulled a Poppy and abandoned them
