I had hell alright. McGonagall luckily was able to convince Umbridge that she could handle me herself. Unfortunately for me, Malfoys parents had to be informed of what happened... and mine. Dad warned me that if I were to act up again that I was to come home for the remainder of the year.
Papa told me he was proud and that I would be welcome to enjoy ice cream with him when I returned.
I returned a letter back, profusely apologizing as well as explaining my side of what happened. I myself still am not quite sure as to why I felt the way I did, I have never once felt the amount of power I did then.
"Did you lot hear? Quidditch has been canceled for the remainder of the year. I wonder who's at fault there." I hear Seamus as he walks past Hermione and I in the halls, and I toss my head back in frustration. The toad was already looking for any reason to cancel it, and I gave her all the strength she needed to do just that.
"Perhaps I need to have another go, any volunteers?" I say loud enough for Seamus to hear. I watch as his eyes go wide, and he fastens his pace, leaving a few second years scrambling to follow him.
Hermione glances at me, "You cannot go threatening people, Y/n." I sigh, "I know, I know. I'm in enough trouble as is."
She offers her arm, and I burry my hand in the crook of her elbow, "Lucky you McGonagall was able to handle you rather than Umbridge, she would have gotten you expelled."
"It's always expulsion with you, innit?" I try to laugh, but she only glares at me. "Yeah, I know... Dad is enraged. Not sure I'm prepared to head off for the holidays." She chuckles, "Can't blame you there, you ready?"
"It's our last meet before we leave in the morning, of course I am. Hate that I've missed so much, though." McGonagall has held a tight ship on me lately. I can't say I blame her. The two of us turn the corner where Umbridge's latest squad of Inquisitors sit, to see them not present.
We take that as a clear and head straight into the Room of Requirement.
"Y/n!" Neville comes up to me and wraps me in a hug, "Glad to see you back!" I smile, returning the favor, "I've seen you in class nearly every day, Nevy."
"It's just not the same," he says as a few other kids come up to greet me. "Been missing having you here, Y/n." Collin rushes up to me and wraps his arms around me, "I've missed you as well, Collin."
"Alright, alright, let's give the lady some room." Fred winks at me, guiding everyone a distance away, and I stifle a laugh.
"If you ask me, Malfoy had the pounding coming." Dennis tries encouraging me by slamming his own fist into his palm. I plaster a smile and say, "I agree," I place a hand on his shoulder before announcing to this room, "Let's get started, huh?"
"Clearly, everyone hated you missing it too," Hermione whispers in my ear before joining the rest of the crowd, and I try not to smile at her.
Harry approaches me and slides a hand around my waist, "Let's show Y/n what we all learned, yeah?"
"Why so you can show off how great of a teacher you are without her?" George laughs, getting a few others in on it. "Right, gotta prove he can do somethin himelf," Fred joins in.
Harry points his wand at them with a grin, "Exactly," more laughter erupts, "Let's get a move on now." I laugh, waiting until everyone groups up, and while no one is looking, I kiss his cheek.
"I'll see how good you did myself, huh Professor." We both laugh as I walk off, watching everyone practice a variety of different spells.
Harry expressed to me a few days ago his concern for Neville and his struggles with spellcasting. So, I told Harry to give him this advice. To not worry about the other person, but to focus on producing it, that it's perfectly fine to focus on your 'enemy' but not to the degree you can't cast a spell.
