Pam's POV
Both Jeff and James refused to tell us where we were going for our vacation. As we drove out of the capital, both Sammy and I were sitting in the back chatting away about anything and everything, as we enjoyed the scenery. We passed by the small town of Banket, before turning onto a smaller dirt road. It wasn't until we reached a gate which had the sign that was written Mazvikadei Marina, that I knew were we were.
Pulling up to a beautiful, thatched roof house, I couldn't help to explore my surroundings. Everything was so lush and green, as I looked at the well-kept lawn and flowers around the driveway. Nature at its best, I thought to myself as I listened to the different birds chirping, having their own conversation. Everything was so peaceful, now I knew why the guys has chosen this place.
We headed into the house and I couldn't help but admire everything, there was even a library and boy was I excited to see what books were present. It was late afternoon when we arrived. The house had two bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom, a spacious kitchen, dining area and lounge plus the library. There was a gazebo out back which overlooked the dam, and one could easily spot a few boats here and there.
When we had looked around the house, both Sammy and I decided to take a nap. I fell asleep loving the comfort of the bed. I woke up to see James looking down at me, looking out the window I saw it was already dark.
"What time is it sweetheart? You should have woken me up," I said stifling a yawn.
"I didn't have the heart to wake you up, and you looked really tired after the house tour. Come let's go have our supper," he said helping me up.
"Okay, I need the bathroom first. I am not having any more children after these three, I can't even get an hour without bathroom breaks," I mumbled as I walked away.James laughed at my comment.
If only he knew what I had to go through each evening. Well I guess he would find out in the two weeks we were staying here. We had a lovely dinner, the men had prepared our meal, and I had to say, I was surprised by their culinary skills, no wonder they both had been confident when I asked them about our food supplies, when we were purchasing our groceries. After dinner we all relaxed in the lounge watching a movie. Feeling tired once more I decided to head off to bed. James came in a few minutes later and opted to sleep on the couch.
"You can sleep on the bed there is plenty of room. Plus I sleep better with you beside me."
"Okay love, as long as you don't start snoring like a bear."
"What! I do not snore. You snore. Last time, I woke up out of fright thinking there was an angry dog in the house," I teased.
"Is that so," he said pulling me towards him. "Well I guess we will both be able to scare off any intruder in the evening," he said making me laugh. It wasn't long before I woke up to use the bathroom. Getting out of bed had become a tedious task these past few weeks. James must have heard me, as he woke up, and helped me out of the bed. I silently thanked God for his patience, as he helped me up each time I woke up. We both slept inn in the morning, hunger is what made me get out of bed.
We all decided to just relax that day, as there was plenty of time for activities. The guys refused for use to do anything, to the extent that when I wanted cake, James had told me to tell him how to bake it. Removing his shirt and leaving him in a vest which showed of his muscular arms, I couldn't help but just stare.
"Babe you have a little drool right here," he said as he leaned down towards me.
"No I do not!" I turned away after being caught staring. "Besides I'm just enjoying the view," I told him in a silky voice.
Chuckling he returned back to the task at hand, baking. It was funny watching him sift the flour in the basin. He did everything with so much precision, I had to tell him to loosen up and enjoy himself.
Pouring the mixture into the baking tin he placed it into the oven. As he started putting away the left over ingredients, his cell phone rang."Hello, yes Mr Powell how may I help you. No I am not around for the next couple of days," he said as a frown began to form on his face. "Listen I don't want any disturbances about work while I am away with my family, did I not mention that in the last board meeting we had. Good, now you fix the problem that is what I pay you for anyway. Yes. Goodbye," he growled into the phone.
"If it's really important we can always go back, you know."
"No, it's nothing love. This is supposed to be our alone time, not work interruptions," he said as he stood behind her and kissed her temple.Pulling up a chair he sat beside her, as they had a light conversation. The oven timer went off, and I could tell he was happy with the outcome of the cake. It smelled heavenly and I could not wait to have some. James cut up the cake and dished it out.
"Jeff!" James called out to his friend.
"What's the matter?" Jeff said with a worried expression.
"Here grab the tea tray. I will bring the cake," he said as he helped me up to my feet.
"What! I thought something was wrong, and here I am to find the problem is just tea," Jeff muttered as he walked out with the tray.We enjoyed ourselves out by the gazebo, as we watched the sun set.
The days passed by with us going for boat cruises, the guys loved their fishing, and both were excited when they each caught something. The day we left I was really sad, and James promised we would take another trip soon.
We arrived back home by lunchtime and I was surprised to see unexpected visitors. My dearest cousin and her so called fiancé.
