I can't believe he had the nerve to come over here after what he did to me. He's the reason my parents sent me to that school in the first place.

I'd been so pissed that I refused to come home during holidays. It's not like Mother and Father ever came to see me anyways.

I finally called them this year and told them that I was coming back. This time it's for good. I told them that my friends were coming too. Though, they would be leaving at the end of the summer.

I watch CALEB as he walked back over to his house. He was shaking his head and clenching his hands.

I wonder what's changed since I came back.

I walk inside my house and LANIE is the first person I see.

"Who was that boy that was here? One of your mates?" she asks.

I laugh at her question as if it were ridiculous. Before I could answer her, SAM walked in.

"You know our girl here doesn't have any friends from The States."

We all laughed at this because it was true. If I'd had any friends here, I would have let them know I was back.

I mean sure there were people that invited me to every party, but none of them were my friends.

I look at LANIE and say, "He's my neighbor CALEB."

LANIE'S eyes start shining with interest. "He's like a sex god. Why haven't we met him yet?"

I look at her in disbelief. "I hate him. He's the reason I got sent to St. Mary's in the first place."

SAM looked at me and nodded her head, "That still doesn't explain why you've kept us all to yourself since we got here. We should go out tonight."

LANIE agreed with her and they looked at me strangely. I am always known for wanting to have a good time.

A smile breaks out on my face, "Fine. I'll see what's going on tonight."

I walk out the back door again and reluctantly walk over to CALEB'S house.

I walk up to the front door and knock, only to be greeted by his mother.

She looks at me with confusion and slight disgust that she tried to cover with friendliness. "Hello there LINA-"

"It's LYLA ma'am" I interject.

"Oh yes. I'm so sorry about that. I didn't know you were back. If I may, why are you here? I never knew for you to be friends with CALEB."

"Well, your son and I ran into each other this morning and he asked me to stop by. He said that he wanted to grab some coffee so that we could catch up."

She nodded her head and her confusion only intensified.

It was well known that out of everyone that I couldn't stand, CALEB was at the top of that list.

"Well," she started, "he's upstairs in his room. You can go get him. He's the last door on the right."

I nodded and thanked her as I stepped into her home.

I walked up the stairs following the directions she had given me.

I walked into his room without knocking because I figured that he'd be playing videogames like a regular guy.

As soon as I walked in, I noticed that he was changing shirts. I silently watched him from the doorway until he noticed me standing there.

He jumped in surprise and I walked farther into his bedroom.

"What are you doing here?" he asked in annoyance.

"We're going to get coffee and catch up." I said with a dull voice.

He laughed once and then said "I'm not going anywhere with you LYLA."

I shook my head "Actually, you are because you kind of fucking owe me."

"It wasn't my fault that you got sent away. How many times do you need me to tell you?" the look on his face showed his anger growing.

"Funny how I don't believe you."

He went to speak again but I interrupted him. "So, let's go."

He finally shook his head and walked out of the house with me.

"We're taking my car. I don't trust your driving ability." he said finally.

I didn't even try to argue with him about it because he hadn't wanted to come with me in the first place.

We sat in his car in silence as we rode out of our neighborhood.

"Do you not listen to any music when you drive?" I said.

He glanced over at me, "Sorry, I didn't know the Queen wanted to listen to something."

My anger surged but I didn't say anything because he did agree to come with me.

As soon as we turned out of the neighborhood, it seemed like every car that had a teenage driver honked their horn at us.

I didn't think that CALEB was driving recklessly or anything. Why were they honking at us?

Every now and then, he would honk back and I looked over at him to see him smiling.

"Do you mind telling me why all of these people keep honking at us?" I say.

He laughs harshly, "First of all, they aren't honking at us, they're honking at me. You aren't really relevant anymore."

I stared at him speechless for a few moments before saying, "Since when do people actually like you? Before I left, you were a nobody that just wanted to make a name for himself."

He chuckled softly and shook his head. "Darling, you have no idea what you're talking about. While you were spiraling out of control before you left, other people were living their lives."

I scoffed at him, "While I was 'spiraling out of control' as you said, you didn't help at all by getting me sent away. Just tell me why you did it CALEB."

His grip on the steering wheel tightened and his knuckles turned white. "For the last time, I didn't get you sent away LYLA."

"Yeah right. I completely believe you. For whatever reason you're not admitting it was you, but I know for a fact that it was."

He blew air out of his mouth sharply. "Whatever. We're here."

"Let's go in so we can talk."

I force a smile as I get out of the car and we walk inside.
