The nameless elf came back in and crouched beside me and told me the danger was gone, for now.
"I guess its time for me to explain." said the elf "My name is Legolas Greenleaf, I am the Prince of the Woodland Realm that my father rules and I have come to bring you back to Mirkwood to meet the King and fulfil your destiny." He said in a cheery kind monotone way."Nice to meet you Legolas" I reach my hand out and meet his, I then introduce myself. "You knew me as Mirabella but after you left I stoped using that name and went by Lyriel, it's the same name just different language. It's el...."
"...elvish I know" Legolas interpreted abruptly.
"So you said you couldn't lose me? And something about my destiny?" I asked wearily.
"Yes I can not lose you because you are important to my father and he needs you to be alive and well for when you meet."
"That is it?" I say confusingly.
"Well there is more, but my father will have to explain." He replied.
"Does this father of yours have a name?" I asked jokingly.
"Oh yes of course, he is King Thranduil of the Woodland Realm" I sit in shock now realizing that I am in the presence of a Prince! I instantly fix my posture and start shuffling my clothes to make them look proper.
"I know what you are doing, and you don not have to do it, I get it all the time just relax when you are with me, imagine us as colleagues."
"I am so sorry" I say abruptly embarrassing myself.
"It is alright, now let us be off we've wasted too much time already! We have a long road ahead." He says jumping up.
The journey was long and quiet, the Prince and I didn't really have anything in common. But every now and then we talked about how I was promoted up as lieutenant so fast and what he knew about the places we were passing by. I was impressed with how much he knew of everything. He knew 100 times more then I did.
"Welcome to the Woodland Realm!" Legolas says happily.
"Uh where are we exactly?"
"We've just entered the borders of Mirkwood Forest, it is part of my father's realm."
"So that means that we are very close to the palace, right?"
"Correct." He giggles under his breath, without changing his expression.
"What? What's funny?" I ask abruptly. "I didn't say something stupid did I?"
No no. Now it is getting late, would you like to setup camp here for the night and reach the palace in the evening or go on through the night and reach the palace in the late morning?"
I stood in awe staring at the giant trees and the multiple colors that cover them. It was like I was lost in a trance.
"My lady?" Legolas asked in a concerned tone.
"Oh sorry, my mind was lost in the trees." I eventually reply.
"It is just the air. You will be accustom to it soon enough."
"Legolas please do not call me my lady, it is something I expect my battalion to call me that but I do not need to hear it from you, okay?" I say in a stern and irritated voice.
"Yes I understand. I am sorry my la... I mean Lyriel." He smiles as he says my name. I'm pretty sure that is the first time I've seen him smile through out our entire trip.
"Thank you, now we can stay here for the night I guess, I am human you know and humans need to rest!" I answerd in a joyful tone. Trying to break the awkward silence between us.
We then setup camp and I soon finished my dinner and fall asleep beside the fire, dreamimg about the tall ill looking trees that filled this forest, and deprived it of oxygen.
