As we walked through the long hallways every elf that I passed gave me an odd look. I guess they haven't seen a mortal before, or it's the bun... probably the bun.  We twisted and turned around hallway after hallway, bridge over bridge until Legolas stopped walking abruptly. We were quiet until Legolas broke the silence.

"This is it. Are you ready?" Legolas turned around and looked at me with a sort of softness in his eyes.

"I am, I'm ready." Legolas was about to make the final turn until I spoke up. "Why do you make this meeting sound so risky, like I should prepare myself?"

"I...uh..." the Prince of Mirkwood stuck for words? Great prince he is. "My father can sometimes be harsh even when he does not mean to be. And he can also be quite intimidating."

"Oh ok, sounds fun let us go!"

Legolas's jaw dropped. I have never seen anyone ever look so shocked in my entire life, it is as if I yelled in his face that elves were horrid and terrible creatures or something like that.  I started laughing uncontrollably and could not stop until I realized he still did not understand my joke.

"I was just fooling around, I was being sarcastic. Do you not know what that means?"

"No my lady I do not." He seemed very serious now, not so soft eyed like how he was before.

"It means that I was just joking. And it's Lyriel not my lady."

"Oh and sorry... again." He replied as he nodded slowly "Now is not the time for jokes, let us go." He stated in a harsh tone that took me by surprised. This must be more serious then I thought. How important could I be to a great Elven King.

We made the final turn and at the end of the hallway there were two huge wooden doors with rounded tops and leaves carved into the door handles. Two elven gaurds pushed open the big doors and there sat the King on his thrown at the top of a small staircase wearing an icy blue and snow white tunic and a huge magnificent crown. He looked so powerful, so majestic almost as if he had a magical presence around him. Yep I definitely was not ready for this, I could tell that whatever was about to take place was not going to be fun.

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! Sorry it's so short. I was gonna make it longer but I wanted their meeting to be its own chapter.
