I Hate My Fake Relationship : Chapter 8 - I Love Being A Cheerleader. Not!

Aubrey's POV (Point Of View)

SOMEONE SUDDENLY SLAMS MY LOCKER SHUT AND MAKES ME JUMP. I look right and sigh in relief when it's just Cole and not some creepy clown that wants to kidnap me because I ate his cake.

Wait a minute. Cole! Cole Thompson, my crush.

"H-h-hey," I greet him, immediately leaning against my locker but I accidentally hurt my feet and curse "Sup?"

He chuckles "Nothing. It's just that Aiden found your chemistry textbook in his bag and sent me to take it to you."

I manage a smile "Thanks .... Uh, what was your name again?"

Aaah, the typical "Forgot Your Name" situation. Except I was pretending.

"Cole," he answers after a little while, his cheeks tinged pink. I squealed a little - actually, a lot - at that, internally.

"Oh yes. Sorry, I know a lot of people!" I exclaim.

He smiles and nods a little "I figured. You know, it's weird seeing you dressed like this. Usually when I saw you, you were in PJ's and used to walk like a zombie."

I laugh a little "I forgot you were my, uh, brother's best friend."

"Yeah ... So, uh, I was thinking .. Would you like to hang out today?"

"Hang out?" I echo.

"Yeah," he says, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

As much as I'd love to say yes, I can't. If anybody sees me with Cole - especially if it's Lena - they'll immediately think I'm cheating on Tyler.

"I .. I can't. If Tyler sees me with you, he'll think I'm cheating. And I can't lose him - I love him." Honestly, this is just complete and utter bull shit but I actually sound sincere.

Cole nods "I understand. So, um, bye!" he says before walking away.

"Cole?" I call after him.

"Yes?" he questions, turning back.

"You still have my chemistry textbook," I point out.

"Oh. Yes. Sorry," he hands me my chemistry textbook.

"Thanks," I smile at him.

"No problemo."

After that run-in with Cole, I was in a good mood. Even Tyler could sense it. We were walking back to his car after his football practise that I apparently had to watch because I was his "girlfriend".

"Why are you, all of a sudden, happy?" Tyler asks.

"Why do you, all of a sudden, care?"

"Because your happy mood is annoying me."

"Oh, so you can be happy and I can't?"

"Yes!" he responds.

"Okay, well - that is just unfair!" I exclaim "You're a big meanie!" Then I did the most mature thing anyone would've done. I stuck out my tongue at him.

He shakes his head at me "Just sit in the bleachers after you've changed and start cheering for me."

"Um ... Cheering?"

"Yeah. Eric and I went to Coach Anderson and at first, she said that she would never let you become a cheerleader. However, when Eric gave her a thousand dollars, she agreed." Tyler tells me.

"You could've told me!"

"What are you talking about it? I JUST TOLD YOU A FEW SECOND AGO!"

"Fuck you, bastard."

"Oh, you wish you could fuck me."

I give him the middle finger and stomp to the bleachers. Luckily, most of the football team isn't here yet and nobody recognises the fact that we're both angry at each other.

Coach Anderson calls me over.

"Yes?" I question tiredly when I've reached him. I barely got any sleep yesterday cause Tyler was squealing about how he would totally have Allie when this is finished. Like, I didn't go to sleep till 5am.

"Here's your uniform. The girls there will teach you your routine. And good luck trying to survive their bratty comments!" Coach hands me this very short yellow skirt and top that has the letters "BWHS" in red.

"Um ..  Thanks?" I say before heading to the girl's  changing room.

BWHS stands for Bridge Wood High School. Bridge Wood is a really small area so we only have 1 high school.

I put my hair up in a neat ponytail once I'm in my cheer uniform. Man, this is so short.

I head out again and immediately, all eyes turn on me.

Oh fùck. I bet that they can see my butt. Damn!

I try to ignore all the wolf-whistles and I walk over to the rest of the cheerleading squad.

I am able to do the splits and I guess I'm kinda flexible.

Oh shit - I just remembered that Emi was on the cheerleading squad too along with Sapphire, Lena and May.

Emi glares at me and pulls me aside "So first you don't tell me you're fake dating Tyler Johnson and now you hid the fact that you're a cheerleader?!"

"Look, I'm sorry I didn't tell you-" I start but she cuts me off.

"You haven't told me or Gabby anything these days!" she screeches at me.

"I'm sorry," I keep on apologising "Really really sorry. Tyler's been keeping me busy with all this stuff! I didn't even know I was apparently a cheerleader until 5 minutes ago!"

She sighs "I'm sorry - I guess I was over reacting."

I nod "It's okay. So um, about this cheerleading routine I'm supposed to learn ...."

Emi chuckles "Come on! Me and Lena will teach you it!"

"Lena? The Lena? The one that's the gossip girl of the school."

Emi suddenly starts squirming "Yeah."

"Woah. She hasn't turned anything you said into a rumour yet?" I question, majorly impressed.

"She hasn't. She's actually really nice once you get to know her."

"O-okay?"

"C'mon now! Let us teach you the routine!" Emi pulls my hand excitedly.

I reluctantly follow her.

Who knew being Tyler Johnson's fake girlfriend would be so tiring?
