4:10 A.M. Brian got out of the taxi. All lights in his friend's house, were on. He thanked his taxi driver and headed to the house. His expression had changed. Brian was feeling very tired and needed sleep. He had not slept for almost two days. His eyes were hurting a lot and his mind was recreating all the things he had seen that day. All from Marc's madness . . .
"Activate it! Oh, you will!
The fast Ford of the doctor and his hopeful sentence . . .
"His pulse is now normal! He is alive!"
The secrets that Greg revealed . . .
"To turn back in time and keep his mother alive."
Till the short revival of Marc and the books.
Brian was walking slowly and the house seemed too far for him, although it was only 20 meters away. After a few steps he could see Jenny in the hall. She was looking at him scared, as he was approaching like an injured animal. She was so scared, she couldn't leave from the door and help him. After almost 3 minutes, Brian managed to reach the door. He tried hard, but he couldn't put a smile on his face. His hands were shaking a little and his feet hurt, but he had to tell Jenny the truth before falling down.
"Jenny. Sorry, I know it is late."
"Never mind that! What has happened?"
"We completed the experiment, but. . . ."
Jenny realized something had gone wrong.
"But what? Where is Marc?"
Brian was expecting such a reaction from Jenny.
"Marc . . . He entered the 4th dimension chamber."
"No! He would have told me!"
"He was so determined. We wanted to stop him."
Jenny started to shout and shake Brian. He couldn't do anything to stop her.
"Where is he?"
"Marc . . . He, fell in coma."
Jenny stopped shaking Brian, while feeling a "frozen touch" through her entire body. He couldn't speak more, so he just entered the house. While Brian sat in a sofa inside, Jenny was still standing just outside the house and thinking about her big loss. Tears were "washing her face", but she couldn't feel them. Her right hand was bleeding a little, because her anger, made her fist too strong. But, she couldn't feel it. Her eyes were actually wide open, but she couldn't see reality.
. . .
Four soldiers took Allan's dead body away, while the others were cleaning the floor. Everyone was confused and some soldiers felt bad about Allan's death. It was so strange, how a friendship, could end up like that. At the end of the tunnel, there was a big metallic door and inside it, the loud shout of Ross could be heard. The room was big and dark. The only thing that could be seen was a big, shining, round, white table and two people sitting there. Ross and Allan. Ross could not believe that a traitor had actually infiltrated his base.
"Who are you?! Tell me everything you know!"
Anton could still feel no emotion after all what happened.
"I am Anton Kupper, 30. My parents died in that terrorist attack, as I said. They were both scientist. I finished Princeton University at age 22 for Computer Science. I had a job at Apple till the attack. I was then taken hostage and . . ."
Ross's anger was not gone. It was growing instead.
"I don't need this bullshit! Tell me more about the terrorists!"
Anton's expression changed. He started to talk slower.
"They took me and Anton hostage. They . . . tortured us."
"Are you lying?!"
"I don't know sir. I . . . can't remember what happened after they closed my eyes. I then . . . remembered I woke in a war, and I then lost my foot because of a grenade and then . . . your robots healed me. "
"This is nothing important. You are only making your situation worse!"
"I swear, I don't know more!"
"Ok then, I will ask that again later. What are you going to tell about Allan? What about his family? You said they were terrorists."
Anton started to talk normal again.
"Yes. I don't know since when had they been part of that group. They had finished a good university, both doctors. My parents were friends with them since kids. But, they had secretly acted as terrorists."
"Did you know them personally?"
"Yes, I knew that as much as my parents did."
"We still lack information! You are hiding something!"
"No, sir. Wait! I noticed something about Allan's fiancé!"
"What?"
"She had a strange tattoo in her neck. It was a small alien face with an "S" letter next to it. Like a symbol."
"You don't have anything else?!"
"No, sir. Check the tattoo . . ."
"You will remain locked inside our punishment room, till we learn something new."
Anton was scared.
"I have done nothing wrong! Don't do that!"
"I am sorry. I treated every new soldier as equal. We can't control everyone. You did this to yourself."
Three soldiers entered the dark room and took Anton out by force.
