Donnie

It had been about an hour and Ava still had a headache. I was starting to assume she had a migraine, not just a simple headache.

"Ava?" I asked.

"Hmm?" She replied.

"How's your head feel?"

"Like there's something inside pounding a hammer against my skull," Ava answered.

I nodded. "Just what I thought."

Ava looked confused. "What?"

"You have a migraine. Not just a headache," I explained.

Ava groaned. "Perfect."

I chuckled. "You want something to drink?"

Ava shook her head. "I'm hungry."

I walked over to her and held out my hand. "Let's go find something to eat then."

She took my hand and we went into the living room. I led her into the kitchen, where she sat down and I started to make her a bowl of cereal.

"Here," I said as I handed her the bowl.

"Thanks," she mumbled. She started eating the cereal. I ate a granola bar as she finished her breakfast.

"Ready?" I asked.

Ava nodded and stood. She gasped and put a hand to her head, grabbing the counter to prevent herself from falling.

"Are you okay?"

She nodded. "Just got really dizzy."

I smiled and picked her up bridal style. She gasped in shock but let me carry her to my room. I laid her on the bed.

"Get some rest," I told her.

She yawned and nodded. "Kay."

I smiled again as I closed the door and went back to my lab.

Mikey

I woke up with Jewel curled into a ball next to me. She stirred soon after I did.

"Hey," I said.

"Hey," she replied. She suddenly started coughing.

"You okay?" I asked. "You don't look so good."

She was pale. She coughed again. "My stomach hurts."

I got worried. "Don!" I called.

He came into the living room. "Yeah?"

"Jewel said she's not feeling well," I told him.

He went into his lab and came out a moment later with a clipboard.

"How do you feel?" Donnie asked.

She coughed. "My stomach hurts."

Donnie started to write something. "Mikey feel her head and tell me how warm she is."

I put one hand on Jewel's head and my eyes widened. "She's burning up!"

Donnie looked at his clipboard. "She's got the flu. Give her some soup, a cold washcloth, and make sure she gets a lot of rest."

I nodded. "Thanks Don."

Donnie went back into his lab and I went into the kitchen. While her soup was heating up, I got a cold washcloth. I put the soup in a bowl and went back into the living room, where Jewel was flicking through TV channels.

"Here." I gave her the soup, which she put on her lap, where a blanket lay. I put the washcloth on her forehead.

"When you're done with that soup, you get some rest," I ordered.

She giggled before coughing again. "Yes sir!"

I smiled and watched her flick through some more channels before she finally settled on the animal channel. After a few minutes, I looked at her and found her asleep. I smiled again and turned back to the TV.
