Chapter 51: Unknown Feelings

(Enzo's POV)

I was standing on the hilly area behind the city. I have loved this place ever since I came into this human world. Away from the glitz and hustle of the city, I was enjoying the fresh air and the light of the fireflies here. I was lost in the hum of the crickets when my eyes fell on a high cliff nearby where a person was standing. In the darkness of the night, I was unable to understand whether it was a boy or a girl. When I went closer and looked, I came to know that it was a girl but I could not understand what she had come here to do at three o'clock in the night.

"Either she is drunk or she is crazy." I mumbled and called out to her "Hey" but she did not pay any attention and started moving ahead. I found her actions a bit strange as she kept moving ahead and stopped right at the edge of the cliff.

Is she insane? If she falls, her bones will be crushed into pieces. Wait a minute, is she going to commit suicide? I thought and immediately shouted my lungs out "hey! Go back." But she didn't pay heed and jumped off the cliff. I ran faster than a bullet and luckily caught her in my arms. "Are you fucking crazy..." I was about to shout at her but when I saw her face my eyes widened in shock and my heart started hammering in my chest. "Genevieve" I whispered and she fainted in my arms.

What if I hadn't come here? What if she... I thought and my eyes started to fill tears for some unknown reason.

(Kyle's POV)

When I came out of the isolation room after meeting my mother, I saw that Dad and Mayson were sitting and talking, laughing and I was a little surprised to see this. I slowly went to both of them and said "Mayson!"

"Hey Kyle, I came here." He said.

"I see you have come." I said.

"By the way, what were you both laughing so much about?" I asked both of them.

"We were just talking." My father said and Mayson nodded.

"How is aunt?" Mayson asked.

"Would you like to see her?" I asked and he nodded enthusiastically.

We both went inside the isolation room and as soon as we went in, we saw that my mother started regaining consciousness and she slowly started trying to open her eyes. I was very happy to see this and I said to Mayson, "You are very lucky for us, see, mom regained consciousness as soon as you came in." Hearing this, he was overjoyed and said, "You wait here, I will call the doctor." A few moments later he came in with the doctor and the doctor asked us to wait outside for a while. Then after monitoring my mother for few minutes, he said, "Everything is normal, now both of you can come inside but make sure that she do not get stressed in any way and if there is any problem or any need for anything, you can inform Dr Lia." We nodded in agreement with the doctor and went back inside. As soon as we went inside, my mother was happy as well as surprised. She softly called out, "Kyle" and I happily went to her and hugged her gently.

"How are you mom? Are you feeling a little better?" I asked. She nodded slowly and said, "Just a little tired."

"It's okay aunty, you just take rest, we will talk later." Mayson said and then I realized that I haven't introduced him to my mom yet.

"Mom, this is Mayson, my best friend." I said and she smiled and asked, "You are Mayson Forbes, right?" He nodded and mom said, "Nice to meet you Mr. Forbes, I have heard a lot about you from my son and I am glad that you are my son's friend."

"Oh no no aunty, you should call me by my name, you are like my mother." He said shyly and she chuckled on that.

"You are blushing as if you are my boyfriend and not my friend." I said and all three of us laughed at this.

(Mayson's POV)

Kyle and I went to the cafeteria for lunch while his Dad met his Mom.

"Kyle, I need to tell you something very important but I don't know if it's right to tell you this at this moment or not." I said.

"Well, why is it not right to tell me now?" He asked.

"Because you are happy right now and I don't want to spoil your happiness." I said.

"Okay then don't tell me." He said nonchalantly.

"I will tell you because I will not be able to digest my food without telling you." I said.

"So why are you creating drama, tell me straight away what the matter is?" He asked me irritably.

"Maya came to meet me this morning." I said and he was shocked to hear that and then said, "continue" and I told him everything that happened this morning.

"So, you are absolutely sure that she is a vampire?" He asked.

"I don't know but I am sure that she is not a human." I said.

"So is Monica also..." He said and stopped mid-sentence and I could see the distress in his eyes.

"Kyle I know how you feel right now. I've been feeling the same way this morning." I said

"I don't know how am I feeling right now. Is it...is it okay to feel bad?" He asked and I could see tears forming in his eyes.

(Genevieve's POV)

"Agh...ahh! Wha-where am I?" I whispered in fear.

Strange noises were echoing in my head and my head was hurting badly. Then suddenly my eyes opened and I realized that I was in an unknown place. I don't know which place is this and what am I doing here. I started feeling very scared and anxious and then I heard a familiar voice saying "good morning" I jolted in fear by the sudden breaking of the silence and when I saw the person's face, I was shocked. "Enzo" I whispered.

"Hey! Calm down. I didn't mean to scare you." He said.

"You... I...What are you doing here?" I asked and he said, "well you asked the most illegal question."

"Huh!" I exclaimed in fear as I was unable to understand the situation.

"I'm in my house and you are in my house too." He said while scratching his nape.

"What?! What am I doing here? Did you kidnap me?" I asked timidly.

"What?! No! What are you saying? I saved you and you're blaming me! Wait! You don't remember anything?" he asked and I mumbled, "No."

"Oh! Let me explain you everything." he said and then told me everything that happened last night and I was shocked because I couldn't remember anything. All I remember is that I saw Aurora's face last night.

"Now you tell me why were you going to jump off the cliff? Do you have any idea what would have happened if I weren't there?" He said in a scolding tone.

"A cliff?... I jumped off!... I can't remember anything. what's wrong with me?" I said and whispered the last part of the sentence.

"Genevieve, relax. Don't stress your mind too much, okay? You just relax." He said softly and I don't know what came to my mind that I suddenly hugged him tightly and tears started flowing from my eyes. He was also a little surprised by this but he took me in his embrace and said, "shhh..., it's okay. I'm here. Don't be afraid. I'm here."
