(Genevieve's POV)

A teardrop rolled down his cheek and fell on my bed while he said, "Take care" and left. It has been two hours since he left but his face wrapped with silent tears is not leaving my mind. Why do I feel so bad for him? Why is it hurting me so much? Just why?

I got up from my bed and looked at my reflection in the mirror and whispered, "Enzo," my reflection asked me, "All your troubles are because of Aurora. So what are you angry with Enzo for? Is it because he's Aurora's brother, or just because he's a vampire?"

"I don't know." I whispered to myself. Aurora ruined my entire life. How can I trust her brother? She's studying at the university in my place. And here I am, having abandoned my studies, my career, and everything else, hiding in a rented house. When I lived in the hostel, I longed to return home, but she took away even that joy of longing for going back to home. My parents don't even know that the girl who comes to visit them during the holidays is not their daughter, but a vampire. It's been a year since I've seen my parents, spoken to them. Sometimes she just sends me some photos and videos, threatening that if I keep my mouth shut, I'll be able to see my parents happy like this. Otherwise...

Well, there is no trace of her for quite some time. Did she do something to my parents? Just the thought of this made my heart tremble in fear. If I call my parents, Aurora will find out somehow and she might harm them. What should I do? Who should I ask for help? I whispered, sobbing, and then my reflection on the mirror said, "Enzo."

"Enzo is that Aurora's brother!" I shouted, smashing a flower vase on the mirror, both shattered into pieces. A voice came from the broken pieces of mirror, "Are you absolutely sure that Enzo is as evil and selfish as his sister? You've met him so many times, has he ever done anything wrong to you?"

(Maya's POV)

Mayson's mom dragged him inside, and when he saw me, his eyes got rounder than a bobaball and his mouth opened so wide that a dinosaur could fit in. He has such a perfect cartoon face, and he gets irritated when called Pikachu. Duh! I thought.

I cleared my throat and said, "ahem

I cleared my throat and said, "ahem... Happy birthday, Mayson."

Kyle shook him gently, but when he didn't snap out of his zoning-out avatar, his mother clamped his jaw shut and said, "Son, she's saying you something."

His mind landed on the earth and he said to his mother, "So that's why you were messing with my phone that day."

"Why? Aren't you happy with this surprise?" She asked dramatically, and he whispered, "not bad mom." but loud enough for me to hear.

After that his father said, "guys let's celebrate his birthday." Then everyone started singing "Happy Birthday to You" and Mayson was blushing for no apparent reason, while Kyle was laughing and enjoying it. And as for me, I was feeling incredibly awkward.

After blowing out the candles he cut the cake and gave his mother the first bite and his father the second. Before I could even think whether Kyle or I would get the third bite, he cut a big piece of the cake and stuffed it into his mouth, and we all gave him questioning looks.
