(Mayson's POV)

Saying that there is another surprise waiting for me, my mother almost dragged me to a room where a table was kept right in the middle of the room and on top of the table was a huge cake which looked more like a wedding cake than a birthday cake and right in front of that table a lady in a floral dress was standing and smiling, seeing which my eyes were wide open and my jaw dropped, almost touched the floor.

(Maya's POV)

I was sitting in a luxurious room at the Siphora resort, where a huge cake was placed on a table in the middle of the room. Today is that arrogant Pikachu's birthday. I felt uneasy because I hadn't come here willingly. It wasn't that I didn't want to wish him, but I was afraid of how he would react if he saw me. I didn't want to spoil his mood today, but what could I do? I was forced here, and his mother had created all this mess.
———————Flashback———————

I was sitting in my room playing the piano when my phone started ringing. I saw it was Mayson calling and picked up, saying, "Hello."

"Hello Maya, this is Mayson's mom," a woman said into the phone and I was nervous hearing that.

"Huh! Hello ma'am!" I said nervously and she chuckled and said, "hey! Don't be so nervous dear. I actually have something important to talk to you about, that's why I called."

"Yes, please say." I said.

"The thing is, I can't tell you everything over the phone, so can you meet me? Please." She asked.

"Meet you? But..." I said and paused for a while because I couldn't understand why she wanted to meet me.

"I'm sorry if I'm bothering you. Actually, it's about Mayson. So, should we meet?" She said, and hearing 'Mayson,' I said yes without a second thought. Shit. I said in my mind and then she asked, "Okay, so we meet at a cafe? I'll send you the location. You don't mind, do you?"

"No I don't mind." I said and she replied, "okay thank you dear! Have a good day" and hung up.

"She's weird." I whispered.

I was sitting in a café waiting for her to arrive and after about ten minutes a middle-aged woman came smiling and sat on the chair in front of me and said, "Hello Maya, I didn't make you wait too long, did I?"

"Not at all. I just came here a few minutes ago." I said.

"Look Maya, the thing is, Mayson's birthday is in two days and I want to give him the best surprise." She said.

"Okay, so?" I asked curiously.

"So I want you to be the surprise for him." She said.

"O... okay. Wait! what?" I said, shocked.

She gave a nervous smile and said, "Look, dear, I'm sorry I'm bothering you so much, but this is my humble request to you, and I think it would be very happy moment for not only Mayson, but for all of us if you join us."

Hearing this, I was left wondering and even angry, wondering what the heck these people want. Where have I gotten myself into? Should I help the people who destroyed my entire family? No way. I fucking hate them. My heart always says to make their lives hell, but my mind always asks, are they really guilty? Why do my heart and mind never sync? Ughh! I said in my mind.

When I didn't respond for a long time, her face turned sad and then she said, "Forgive me, dear. I think I'm bothering you too much. Look, I'm not forcing you. Whatever your decision is, just let me know. Okay? I should leave now. Um...If you have to go somewhere, come, I'll drop you off."

"No, there's no need for that," I said.

"Okay. Take care of yourself." With that, she gave me a sad smile and walked out, but I don't know why I felt a little bad.

"Shit!" I muttered and ran out of the cafe. As she was about to get into the car, I yelled, "Mrs. Forbes... ma'am, wait!" I ran towards her and was about to say that I'm sorry, it's not that I don't want to congratulate Mayson on his birthday, but I'm really busy these days, so I can't come with you guys. Please don't mind.

BUT.

My mouth said, "I'll come." Goddamn it! Why can't my brain sync with any organ in my body? I thought.

She was shocked and asked, "are you sure?"

"Ye-yes ma'am." I said hesitantly and she hugged me gently and said, "thank you Maya." and I was surprised by her reaction.

"I'll text you all the details. And yes, please call me Aunty," she said with a smile, then got into the car and drove off.

(Author's POV)

In a strange and different world inside a mysterious and elusive well...

Slap!

"Now if you cry over the same thing again I'm going to..." Aurora said fiercely and slapped Eric.

"What will you do? Hah! What? I'm not afraid of you, you monster." Eric shouted, tears rolling down his cheeks, struggling hard to free himself from the merciless ropes almost piercing his wrists and ankles.

"Look, Eric, get this thing straight inside your head I didn't bring you here to take you back home. So don't cry about that in front of me again. Got it?" She said in a dangerously low voice.

"I wish you die." He shouted so loudly that his throat started to pain and he started coughing which made Aurora feel a little bad, not because of his words, but because of the pain he was feeling at the moment. She also noticed that the ropes were so tightly bound that his skin has turned blue, but she didn't let it show on her face and walked away with a deep sigh.

(Enzo's POV)

Right now I'm into Genevieve's house without her permission, like a thief, sitting on a beanbag waiting for her to regain consciousness. I'm not a thief, I'm just helpless. Well yes I'm seriously helpless. I mean what can I do if she faints every time? Last time, she fell off that cliff and fainted in my arms. This time, she fainted when I asked her about my sister.

She had a high fever, and I didn't know what to do, so I had soaked my handkerchief in iced water and has gently rubbed it on her forehead. After doing that for about an hour, her fever had gone. It's been almost two hours now and she still didn't regain consciousness. Did I do something wrong? Did she catch cold because of iced water? Shit! What have I done? I was just wondering when she started mumbling something in her sleep, "Don't... please don't... no." and woke up with a jolt.

I ran towards her and asked softly, "Hey! are you okay?"

She was shocked to see me so I started explaining to her, "Ah...um...you had a high fever and you fainted, so I soaked my handkerchief in iced water and rubbed it on your forehead. I'd seen in cartoons that this helps bring down fevers. Actually, we vampires never get sick, so I didn't know what to do, so..." I said but she didn't say anything.

"How are you feeling now?" I asked and she asked, "You don't want to know about your beloved sister? That's why you were waiting for me to wake up, right?"

Every word she said shattered my heart, and I felt as if I were truly the worst creature on earth. It's true though. I wasn't a human after all. It wasn't that I didn't want to know about Aurora, but it wasn't that I did all this just to find out about my sister.

"Take care." That was all I could say and a teardrop rolled down my cheek and fell on her bed, and then I left from there.
