(Eric's POV)
Opening my eyes, I found myself lying on a tattered bed. I looked around and saw white walls, a closed door, and a small window in the corner of the room. I slowly got up and realized Aurora wasn't there. I went to the door and tried to open it, but it was locked from outside. "I knew it," I muttered, then my eyes fell on the window. If I could somehow break it, I could escape. I don't know where I'd run, but I won't stay here with her. I thought, and my eyes scanned the area. Then I spotted an iron rod in a corner of the room. I immediately picked it up and slammed it against the window, shattering it. Without thinking twice, I quickly jumped out off the window and started running.
I ran and stopped in the middle of a dense forest. I had lost my way and had no idea where to go. The terrifying forest surrounded me, and on top of that, I was exhausted from hunger and thirst, and I had sustained several injuries that were now bleeding. "What should I do now?" I mumbled and started to panic but then I heard someone's voice, "hey! Can you hear me?" I turned around and saw a girl waving me over. She must have been trapped here, just like me. I went a little closer to her and asked her, "Who are you?"
"Are you also stuck here like me?" She asked.
"You mean, you too...?" I asked and she nodded and said, "If you want to get out of here, please come with me because I know of a place here from where we can find the right way to escape."
"Who are you and why should I trust you?" I asked because she looked quite suspicious to me.
"My name is Evelyn, and right now is not the time to think about all that. Do you want to escape or not?" She asked and I nodded and started following her because I didn't have any choice.
After walking a long distance, she took me to a house which was not in very good condition but was better than the ruins of Aurora.
As soon as I entered, two boys there stared at me as if I were their prey. One of them said, "what the hell, Evelyn, he's so skinny, he must not have enough blood in his veins." Then the other one snapped back, "and we'll have to divide him between the three of us." Hearing this, the ground beneath my feet slipped away, and I realized I was indeed their prey. "Wh-What are you guys sa-saying?" I said, trembling with fear.
All three of them had bloodshot eyes and their fangs had grown out, and with such a terrifying look on their faces, Evelyn said, "You still don't get it, you stupid boy? You're our prey."
I was about to run away when the three of them grabbed me tightly, and I couldn't stop the tears from falling from my eyes. I was now in a terrible trap, and there was no way I could escape death.
"Let go of me!" I yelled, but all three of them started laughing, and Evelyn was about to dig her fangs into the veins of my neck when suddenly a sharp piece of wood came from somewhere and pierced her chest right through. As her body fell on the ground, I saw the face of Evelyn's killer and I gasped to see it.
"Aurora," I whispered.
Aurora's eyes were fierce red, but not for hunting, but with anger. And then, in the blink of an eye, like a gust of wind, she came right at me, twisted the boys' necks three hundred and sixty degrees, and then all three were dead.
"That's why I told you not to try to escape," she said, gritting her teeth in anger.

(Maya's POV)
Mayson and I were sitting in the resort's cafe, and he was staring at me, and I was staring at him. This has been like this for the past half an hour.
"Ahem...if you don't mind can I ask you something?" I asked.
"Ask" He said.
"Don't you celebrate your birthday with much fanfare? I mean, I've seen a lot of celebrities celebrate their birthdays with great pomp, but your birthday was a simple one with just a few people, just me and Kyle." I asked.
"I've never considered myself that special. I simply share in the joy of those who celebrate my birthday, whether they're my parents, friends, or fans." He said and paused for a moment and then started speaking again, "I didn't know Mom would plan such a surprise this time." He chuckled and looked at me and I felt my face heating up.
"Well, let's order something to eat?" He asked and I said, "I'm not hungry. If you want to eat something then, please do."
"Are you sure?" He asked.
"We don't feel hungry or thirsty. We only eat and drink occasionally to disguise ourselves among humans. We only need blood once every three months." I said.
"That's creepy and gross." He said.
"I know." I muttered.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean it otherwise." He said.
"It's okay. I know I'm a different creature from a different world so... it's okay." I said and forced a smile.
"Shall we go to the dahlia garden?" He asked and I furrowed my eyebrows while asking, "aren't you going to eat anything?"
"I don't feel like eating." He muttered and I asked, genuinely concerned, "Mayson, are you okay?" because I could clearly see he was feeling a little anxious about something for quite some time.
"Maya, I'm really worried about Eric." He said.
"Don't worry, there's still the whole day left. He'll definitely wish you by evening." I said.
"It's not just about wishing me, Maya. His phone has been switched off since last night. There is definitely something wrong." He said getting worried.
Hearing this, I also started feeling that something was definitely wrong and I asked, "You do one thing, his girlfriend, what's her name. Oh yeah Genevieve, you should ask her where he is, maybe she knows something."
"Her number has changed and I don't have her new contact number." He said.
"Oh!" I said and thought for a moment and then said, "then you can call his dorm and ask."
"You are right, I will ask them now." He said and as he took out his cell phone it started ringing and he picked it up and said, "Dad?"
"Whatt!" He said and got up from the chair with a jerk. He was shocked, and then the phone disconnected.
"What happened?" I asked and he said, "I need to go the hospital. Right now."
"Hospital?" I asked and now I too started getting nervous. His eyes began to moisten and he said, "Maya Kyle, his mother..." As soon as he said this, I understood the matter and I said, "I will also come with you."
