Angel's Pov
Colton ? Colton ? I don't even know a " Colton " . But now there is one in my store claiming to be my long lost big brother . Mom and dad never mentioned me having a brother .....EVER . So I really want to hear what he has to say .
" Well Colton , let me go let my manager know I'm stepping out and then we can go out to lunch . " I said
He gave a simple head nod .
I walked back to where Lily was .
" Lily " I called
" Yes Angel ? " She replied
" I'm going to be stepping out for about 30 minutes so just run the store for me " I informed
" You got it " She laughed
" Thanks Lily " I smiled
I began walking back to the front of the store . To no surprise , Colton was still standing there .
" Let's go " I said
He smiled as we walked out the store .
" So where are we going ? " He asked
" Well there is a ice cream shop about two blocks for here . We'll just go there . " I explained
" Alright , I'm following you " He said as he began to walk to his car .
I walked to my car and got in . I pulled out of my parking space and checked my rear view mirror . True enough , Colton's blue and white mustang was right behind me . I chuckled to myself as I began to drive. As I was driving towards the ice cream shop , I couldn't help but wonder ... What if he really is my brother ? And why would mom and dad keep him a secret . I had a lot of questions and I knew by the end of today all of my questions would be answered .
Finally we arrived at the ice cream shop . We parked our cars then headed inside . We ordered our ice cream then payed for it . I got chocolate with rainbow sprinkles . Colton ordered vanilla with oreos on top . We selected a table and began to eat our ice cream . Five minutes went by and finally the silence was broken .
" I know you have questions . So what ever you wanna know , just ask . I'll tell you everything you wanna know . " He said
" Well do we have the same parents ? " I asked
" Well the same mom but not the same dad . " He said
" Not be rude but how old are you ? " I asked
He laughed
" Its okay but I'm 26 . " He answered
" I'm 21 so you're only five years ahead of me " I said
" Yes I know . I left on your your third birthday . " He explained
" But why did you leave ? " I asked
" Well I was 8 years old . As any 8 year old would , I wanted to see my parents together . I thought she still loved my father . So I kept pressing mom to give my dad one more chance . She was going to leave your father for mine until he threaten to kill her . Then she just shut down on even the idea of getting back with my father . Your father would come home and give you all the love in the world then around and spit in my face . Calling me a mutt or a bastard . So one day I asked mother " who do you love more ? " She looked me dead in the face and said your father's name . I ran out of the room and packed what I could . I haven't seen mom nor you ever since " He said
" Are you serious ? " I asked in shock
" Yes . I never wanted to leave you behind . You're my little sister . I regret leaving now because I missed everything important in your life . " He explained
