Chapter 28 ) Someone Is Dead

Josh's Pov

Ever since the lawyer visit , things have been quite easy around here . For the first time in awhile , Angel and I werent watching over our shoulders . We were able to go to sleep at night without a worry .

Today is the day that my family and I head out for another family vacation . We decided we just needed to get away after the situation with Arsen . So for a couple of days , Angel and I just brainstormed until we came up with the perfect idea . A camping trip . Cill and the kids had so much fun when we were in the Amazon so figured we would do it once more . This time just a little differently . A cabin in the mountains of Tennessee .

I haven't been in so long and the kids have never been. We called ip my mom , and Colton . Colton was excited and gladly agreed to bring Venus . And of course my mom said yes .

Now it was time to tell the kids .

We came and sat them all down in the living room . Venus and Priscilla were sitting together , hand in hand . The babies were siting in their carseats asleep of course .

" Daddy just tell us , where are we going ? " Venus asked

" Why dont you ask Uncle Josh ?" Colton replied with a smirk

" Pleeeeaaaasssssse Uncle Josh tell us " Venus begged

" You have to Daddy . You just have to " Cill added .

" Well if you really want to know .....We are all going camping in a cabin in the mountain ! " I explained excitedly

They got up and began to scream and shout .

" WE'RE GOING CAMPING " They shouted in unison

Venus stopped and looked to me

" When are we leaving ? " She asked

" How fast can you pack your toys ? " Angel said as she walked in the living room .

The kids flew up the stairs . Angel gave her brother a hug and then gave me a kiss

" So Angel , you excited for this trip ? " Colton asked

" Why wouldnt I be ? I get to see my big brother and his daughter . " Angel answered

" You guys arent taking the dog are you ? " He asked

" Of course not . Her small body cant handle all that snow . " I answered

" So whose gonna watch her ? " Colton asked

" Mom " Angel replied .

Colton rolled his eyes .

" Whose ready to go camping ? " Colton yelled upstairs

" We are " The kids answered as they flew down the steps.

" Then lets roll " I said

We all piled into my Range Rover and headed over to my mom&s house . Luckily she was already ready and all we had to do was help her put her things in the car .

" Thank you boys " Mom said as she climbed in the truck

" Youre welcome " I said with a smile

" Whose excited for camping ?? " Mom asked the kids

They giggled and smiled

" And I'll take that as a yes " Mom said

We drove to the airport where all piled into my jet . The kids sat in the front of the plane where as we were in the back. The plan ride was only 30 minutes . We landed and my security team helped us with our baggage . We carefully got in the car and made our way up to our cabin in the mountain . Angel checked us into cabin and retrieved the keys . Then we drove up . The cabin was built in a beautiful mahogany wood . We walked in and it was a lot bigger than it looked on the picture . The carpet was a mocha color and it was soft .

The kids raced off to see the rest of the cabin while Angel and my mother went to the kitchen to began to cook . Colton took Brayden and Giselle to a extra room in the cabin while I began to unload the car .

1 HOUR LATER

Dinner was ready and we were all enjoying it . The current topic was Angel and modeling career taking off . I dont have to much to say because I disagree with it . Im glad it makes her happy but I have enough money to last enough for the rest of our life . But things are what they are .

" Daddy can we roast marshmallows tonight ? " Venus asked

" After bathtime " Colton answered

" Thank you Uncle Colton " Cill added

Angel and I went upstairs to get the bath ready when all of sudden there was a scream downstairs . We gave each other a frightening look before rushing back down the stairs . My mom was behind the kitchen table with Cill and Venus in her arms . I looked to my right to see Colton with a gun drawn .

There was a bear standing only 20 feet away from Colton .

" Oh my gosh " Angel whispered .

We slowly moved toward my mom and the kids .

" Cill crawl to me very very slowly " Angel said in a panic

She shook her head no

" Come on baby you have to " Angel said

The bear began moving closer to Colton. Colton began to cock his gun . The bear charged.

" Daddy no ! " Venus said

Boom !

I reopened my eyes . There stood Colton pale as a ghost . I looked down and there was blood on the floor . But it wasn't his .

" Dear heaven " Angel whispered

" Venus ! Please baby please ! " Colton screamed

She was non responsive. Her bright white dress was now filled with blood. He grabbed her body and pulled it in to his

" Mom what are you doing ?! Call 911 " I screamed

Colton just cried rocking her body back and forth.

" I'm so sorry baby . I'm so sorry " Colton said as he ran his fingers through her hair .

So as for vacation ......Not so much

Author's Note -

The bear attack caused Venus her life . Will Colton ever forgive himself for killing his own daughter ? Is Arsen still plotting against Angel ? Is anyone truly safe ?
